With the advent of "Rock Band" and "Guitar Hero" ,people have taken to extracting this isolated multi-tracks used in the games. (Most are the original, some re-recorded).
For those who aren't familiar, the original tracks are needed because (in the game) if the player makes a mistake the audio guitar track drops out. This is unattainable using the mixed master of the song.

Thought I'd dig up a few interesting one to get it rolling here... Some are not from games alone.

There is a good variety of Keith Moon's isolated tracks available at Youtube. Rather than me posting them all, you can view them here (http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=keith+moon+isolated+drums&search_type=&aq=f). http://freesmileyface.net/smiley/Music/battery-062.gif (http://freesmileyface.net/Free-Music-Smileys.html)

A little off in speed at times but it levels out. A great example of his VH 1 tone...

Not what I meant at all...trying to play YYZ and failing during my younger days with the full music.....I was distracted by the rest of the band and never really knew what Neil was laying down....having the isolated tracks is really an eye-opener. BTW, I'm your aliases so really you're fucking with yourself, bitch;)

Why bother with one or two tracks? Do a Google search for multi-track masters.

I have Bohemian Rhapsody, Boston's More Than A Feeling, and a bunch of other stuff......all 24-tracks of each song.

My kids play Guitar Hero and I hate playing Guitar Hero, especially on songs I can play for real on a real guitar. I see those dots coming at me and go what the fuck? What's this paddle thing? Where's the fucking strings and frets?

If anything, it's exposing kids to the great classic rock music I grew up on.

"Guitar Hero" = FAILstation. :hee: Fun for toddlers I guess, but otherwise, why bother...

Though the video of Rush failing at "Tom Sayer" with the game was hysterical...they were like "Hey, didn't we write this tune?" :lmao:

OK, well....there's that I guess...

Or fun for people who started guitar as a teen and just didn't get past garage band with it. I really do want to take a crack at it because the chances of getting back to an actual guitar at my age are slim and none. It looks like fun.

My version of Guitar Hero is called a Stereo, along with my Marshall and Gibson.

Good it is exposing a new generation to the REAL music.

Downloaded the tracks for "What's Goin' On"....holy crap, it's cool to hear everything separately...for example, the bass track is killing....never realized how cool it was on its own...:notworthy:
