I was wondering where I could get a copy of NUYA. I looked on the sites Lounge sent me to, nobody has it up for a torrent or download. Cato made the DVD, and all the other forums are saying he doesn't want it distributed...

It's whatever. If someone were to find me a copy online somewhere, i'd be grateful.

hey cato.........i got a copy of this from you a few years back.
the one you sent me is all fucked up and will not play.
it was like this when i got it in the mail from you in 2005.
you sent me a defective copy.
in the past 4 years since you sent it, i have tried it on many different players always with the same fucking result.
do you think i could get another copy from you that is not fucked up and will actually play this time?
that would be so nice.
thanks.

I think I didn't send you a copy.

I sent it to only the members who posted name ideas for this DVD, and some close friend of mine.

did you give me any idea at the time?

No.

are you a friend?

Hell No.

fuck that.........we should have dropped the a-bomb on tokyo when we had the chance back in 1945.
fucking hirohito had to surrender.............we told him it was in the air over tokyo.........after the surrender our boys should have cleared out and we should have dropped the fucking bomb on tokyo anyway......right on emperor

Ace.. ace ace: Cato knows I am only joking!

I would never wish Tokyo to be enflamed with Napalm while we still have large reserves of thermonuclear devices to do the job more efficiently, and he knows that.

what about waking godzilla............or as he knows it, gojira?

i think the big guy is about due for another rampage through tokyo.
it's only been since 1985.............only difference is raymond burr isn't alive anymore to help save tokyo from his wrath.

No, Gojirra went ashore with CGI back in 2005 - don't you recall?

Kinda sucked, he was all skinny like an Iguana lizard, or like a greencoch.

Eight years after release, Napalm Up Yo Ass is still one of my favorite fan made releases. THANK YOU CATO!

I was wondering if there were any plans to release an upgraded version of "Napalm" on DVD9 or Blu-Ray (PLEASE!) complete with PCM audio and the 2012 VH promo videos?

Thank You,

Milan

what's the advantage of putting VHS quality videos on Blu-ray?

I'm able to create it, though.

Howdy Cato,

The super high bitrate capability of Blu-Ray would eliminate most, if not all video compression artifacts.
There would also be plenty of room for uncompressed PCM stereo audio.

I watched Napalm today, and the only clip that looked to be sourced from VHS was California Girls.
I thought all of the other clips were from higher quality (non-VHS) sources?

Thank You,

Milan

good eye.:cato2:
the Cali girls vid was sourced from BTB's "Rage, red and more" DVD. the others were from the broadcast reel. but they seem official release VHS quality.

Thank you for the information, Cato.
Surely, the official broadcast reel is higher resolution than VHS (240 lines)?
I believe a proper capture of the broadcast reel clips would look stellar on Blu-Ray.
I would love to have an upgraded and expanded version of Napalm on BD-R, as I doubt there will ever be an official release of DLR's promo videos.

I'd like to second that as well. My copy still plays great, and the production in terms of content and editing is superlative.

Thanks, Cato!

Hey, it WAS quite a long time ago, so no worries.

The thing that stuck out in my mind about it was how the original trade was for a different band, and you threw in Napalm as an extra/freebie, which was a very classy thing to do.

Cato, what are you looking for?

I have several hundred uncriculated professionally shot photos of Van Halen in San Antonio on June 22, 2012 which I could send you on a DVD+R.
I've also been collecting bootlegs for 20 years and have thousands of FLAC sets/DVD+R video boots/and a few Blu-Ray HD video recordings to share.

If you'd rather I gave you cash for your work, PM me and we'll work out a deal.

Thank You,

Milan

Cato-sama is nothing short of a class act.

Have you ever "updated" it, Cato? Added some videos, or anything?

Cheers! :beers:

I've posted a request for the Rubinos Rockpalast DVD on the DIME discussion list.
Let's see what transpires. That group is very good about filling requests. :)

Well it looks like the Rubinos Rockpalast is not compliant with DIME's TOS.

Check out this message that one of the DIME moderators sent me.

At least part of this material is not dimeable.

The following tracks are available (and have been since 1978) on the
Bezerk Times compilation LP (with one side of Rubinoos recordings):

Rocking In The Jungle
