    Tour 2010

Well just here waiting for VH to start rocking again. I dont mind if they dont have any new material to play . I know some fans want some new music from them but this is Van Halen. I just expect a great concert from them and usually get that when they perform . We could all hope for a long tour like the last tour so a lot of fans will be able to see them. If any of you guys didnt get a chance last time to see them Live , you should if they come to your city thats for sure. Another thing watching youtube videos of any of the shows shouldnt be a measuring tape of whether to see them Live, the youtube videos doesnt do them or any other band justice unless its a pro-shot type . Check out the Mighty Van Halen in 2010, I know I will be there.

Another one of those classic genius posts, sure to generate responses. You log on the next day to see what your witty gem has produced to find no one gets it and 2 knotheads want to stick their dicks in it... Well played, sir!!

If they did stuff like Simple Rhyme, Drop Dead Legs, Hang em High, Light up the Sky, Me Wise Magic, Push Comes to Shove, Hear about it Later, Sinner's Swing, then absolutely. But if it's same old hits they've done and no new stuff, then why?

New music seems like a necessity, but who knows what will happen.

If there isn't any new music, I'm not interested. Short of that, they should play Fair Warning in it's entirety. That would fill a little over 31 minutes. After that, a bunch of album cuts that haven't been beaten to death on classic rock radio. Ditch the guitar and drum solos. Throw in "Me Wise Magic" and a couple of covers.

But don't play 95% of the first album again. Please.

It's great to hear a variety of the Van Halen songs on the radio station down here. But playing the same 20 songs live gets old. I'd still see them though.
Reading Crazy From the Heat in four hours flat, in a cramped RV, on the return trip of a 3,000+ mile family outing to New Jersey is an enlightening experience you'll never forget.

Only tour I see happening is the EVH Gear Ho tour of 2010.

Expect to see the new and improved Ed out at Winter NAMM next month selling his D2H bridge, Lefty Wolfgangs and Stripped Tampons.

Next up... Charvel Fart Series Bass custom designed by Wolfie...

To everyone who wouldn't see a 2010 tour without new music...I say great! More tickets for me.

But yeah, I'd rather a new album came out first. The drum solo could go from the set, but the guitar solo is as important to a Van Halen concert as Panama is. Just can't be removed. Although Ed should feel free to mix it up a bit. That solo hasn't changed in decades. Eruption can be moved to a beginning of another song, as well as Cathedral. This would allow the solo to be some more innovative stuff that we haven't heard before.

And I say keep I'll Wait in the set list about half way through. A great chance to run out & restock the beers. Better yet, they should write a 5 minute song called "Go Grab Some Beers" just for that purpose. (Well, I guess this is why Alex still does his solo)

At SDSU Cox Arena in 2007, they only allowed a 2 beer purchase. I asked the young girl working the counter that if I could finish the first before she finished pouring the 3rd if I could buy 3. She said ok thinking I was kidding. Went back to my seat with 3 beers. 2 in the hands, 1 in the belly.

I guess I'd go see VH with the same old set list if they played a really cool venue like Red Rocks. I have never seen a concert there and seeing VH there would be a cool first show.

The two obvious routes they can take both have rewards and, for lack of a better word, risks. The easy way would be to just go out on the oldies circuit, re-release old shit and throw in a new concert DVD. Tried and true and the only real effort is getting up and playing the shows. No risk about flack for the new material not being as good as the old stuff and no financial risk as far as producing new music. I call bullshit on that because they own their own studio and as far as producers, engineers and the like they can all take points off the album sales. Release it like Paul McCartney did through a distributer like StarFuckers. Really you only need a distribution outlet and signing a deal like that, get an advance to cover production costs and printing costs.

I personally am against that and look at guys like Springsteen who keep releasing new material and tour their asses off. They bring it full on every night. Say what you want about how good the new stuff is.......it's not really the point. They're doing it the way it should be done.

It probably is meaningless, but one of the bland, goofball DJs on Buffalo's 97Rock (FM) stated recently that the "97Rock reporters" (read whatever shit they get off the AP wire) were told that Dave recently stated that there was going to be a tour, and perhaps new music, in 2010. But take that with a BIG grain of salt, as I can find nothing on this via Google..

At this point, i would even take a covers album which seems to be so fashionable these days. VH could do some of the ZZ Top covers they used to do in concert like Beer Drinkers and Hellraisers. That being said, i don't think Wolfie would be able to hit any of the backing vocals that song requires, which brings on a bigger question. If there is new music, who is going to vocally fill in the holes that MA used to? Think of the highs that MA hit in Me Wise Magic. I guess Roth will have to do his own backing vocals and they will just have to layer it in.
