A perfect combination of fender, Gibson, and a cool body style...

The hardware and pickups are cheap, but nothing I cannot and will not fix...;)

The quality of the wood is great and the fret work is good...

It played really nice out of the box, and after I set it up and cut the nut and polished the frets, it plays great!

Different.. but the 90's give it a special go-to attraction.

I think he'll enjoy it!

Nice...odd looking, but nice. What kind of replacement P90s are you putting in there?

Could you picture Yngwie throwing one of these around his shoulder followed by him straining at kicking picks into the air for the fans...

Hmm, I smell a photoshop on the horizon. ;)

It reminds me somewhat of the Guild Thunderbird..

This guitar came with a kickstand! So when Cato says "how does it stand up" this may be the reference: does a metal bracket pop out from the middle in back?

I have these in my gold top Agile and they are awesome and quiet...

The original single-coil soapbar design had a unique sonic character. Some players consider it to be the best-sounding pickup ever made. Low notes were solid and not tubby; they had an almost piano tone quality. High notes were incredibly fat, all the way up the neck. We've always thought this was a devastating combination, but we thought it would be even cooler if it were humbucking. Much research and a patent application later, here it is, with the added ability to adjust the patented dual resonance coils for bass and treble balance, and 4-conductor cable for coil-splitting and parallel sounds.

Recommended For: Neck or Bridge positions.

Cover Dimensions 3.38" x 1.38" x 0.75" (86 x 35 x 19 mm)
Wiring Standard four conductor
Magnet Ceramic
Output 290mV
DC Resistance 9.62K

Getting another set asap!

I'd really like to try one of those. Ever since I got my LP Special I've been way into the P-90 sound.

Looks like something Billy Gibbons would play. You can't go wrong with a good piece of wood and P-90's!

I bought one last year, vintage white. I love it. I got the one with humbuckers and put a pearly gates in the bridge. I wanted a more vintage look so I bought a P90 pickguard from them and dropped in a Seymour Duncan Vintage SP90-1 in the neck and a Dimarzio P90 super distortion in the bridge. Fantastic guitar. Solid alder body to boot. The neck has a nice vintage amber tint to it too. I swapped out the bridge and tailpiece, plays like a champ. I have the vintage P90 tone in the neck and humbucking power in the bridge. Both pickups are creme.

Although I've never owned a guitar with P-90's I love the sound. Who knows, my next one just might have to have 'em...

That's a neat take on an archtop. One of the (many) issues with those older models was that they tended to be ergonomically impractical. Sure, they had a sweet tone that guys like George Benson could be particularly expressive with. What most people aren't aware of is that guys like Benson had unusually huge hands featuring long, tapered fingers, so getting into the upper register of the neck (where the supple mids are located) wasn't an issue. But for the rest of us mere mortals, it required quite an effort. The cutaways on this Grodin model are similar to those of a Les Paul (almost).

It would be cool if it came with a 5 way switch, rather than a standard 3 way to fully exploit the possibilities of it's tones. Yet that is a mere quibble when you realize that you can actually sit comfortably and play the damned thing without needing to do a set of calisthenics first.

Nice choice.
