For anyone that's interested:

Here are some pics at my site (http://www.dumontnjforum.com/forums/sports/312-yankee-stadium-demolition.html) of Yankee Stadium being torn down.

Why no implosion ??

Because of it's history, it was decided to dismantle ;), it piece by piece as opposed to an implosion.

I guess an implosion seemed to "mean"?

I get it...why they are taking it down piece by piece...

but at what point does someone fucking say...

"Let's safe some money..."

I can't imagine this process is cheap...

Yankees save money? This is the same team that buys all the biggest name free agents in the offseason every year, the team with the highest payroll in baseball, that gladly pays the luxury tax because of their ridiculous payroll, and they're going to save money?

the dust from an implosion would tarnish their beautiful new palace.

I believe the City of New York decided how to handle taking down Yankee Stadium not the Yankees.

Secondly, many items are being sold for memorabilia.

The Yankee hate made me laugh. Especially from a fan of a team that has never been in the World Series and the other hasn't won one in over 50 years! :)

i thought about that, too. that's a lot of bricks and seats and other shit to sell.

i have a couple of the old Cleveland Stadium bricks. that one was also knocked down piece by piece. they had a pallet of bricks for sale in one of the parking garages for $10 each, got you a brick in a cardboard box and a letter of authenticity "signed" by the mayor.
