    Queensryche: post 'Empire'

I've got all of Queensryche's albums up to 'Empire', but I'm unsure which one's to check out after that.

Help and recommendations would be hugely appreciated.

I kind of stopped listen to Queensryche after Empire.
There are a few cuts I like off of albums/cds after that but the only ones I would recommend as a whole are Promiseland & Mindcrime II plus Live Evolution & Mindcrime At The Moore.

      I'd stop there.

In fact I would stop about 3/4s of the way through Empire. At that point it all goes a bit meh for me.

      Love them up to then.

If you could do a check to see how many times I had listened to an album both Mindcrime and Rage For Order would be in my top 25.

Hey there's a boring idea for a thread...

I kind of lost interest after "Empire" too...there's a few tunes on "Promised Land" I liked, and there were a couple on "American Soldier", but IMO they haven't been the same since Degarmo (originally their primary songwriter) left...

Pretty much, they started to sound a bit contrived on Empire

Someone who used to post here had a brother in the band.

He should get them to read this thread before they record their next album...

Wow that means they came up with good stuff for 8 years and then didn't for 20.

                    Empire was not bad.
Ops Mind Crime was Fantastic. Their best effort IMHO.
Not sure about after that. They fell off the radio map when the Grunge era took over.

                      I love "Promised land".

Very dark and hard to get into, but worth it in the long run.

                      I also enjoyed "Tribe".

"HITNF", "Q2K" and "OM2" were nothing special and I haven`t heard "American soldier".

Queensryche after "Empire" equals a big NO from me.

Haven't really liked anything they've done in the time since, short of a few live albums that I've picked up at pawn shops and whatnot.

                          Empire was genius.

I read somewhere the guitar player left and became an airline pilot.

No, but Michael Wilton [who is still in the band] has his own line of clothing AND beer.

Another band ruined by Ray Danniels. I honestly don't know how Rush is still together. Maybe because he's always been their manager, and they don't know better? Or maybe Danniels only destroys American bands?
