Why does he talk with a fucking accent now in interviews I've seen with him? I know he's a USA hater and all, but he sounds like a fucking idiot.

Holy shit! How's it going, Lumbergh?

Anyway....Depp has become an overly-pretentious wanna-be Frenchman. He's lived there for quite some time....

I think Shania Twain shacked up over there as well. It's just a matter of time before she becomes Shania Le'Twain...

He is a typical two faced twit who has expatriated himself, yet comes back here to earn millions off of idiots who spend thier hard won bucks at his overtly ghey movies.

Then runs back to his "frenchie place" and converts it to euros and we never benifit from his spending to benifit the American economic base. Then he spends the next few years publically humiliating his "boss and the company that he works for" the american people.

He may be entertaining kids 10 and under with his childrens book movies and that is cool, but I have never been able to last more than a 1/2 hr watching one.

His complete assholedness is appearant in his bieng worshiped and used as the AV of The Loungei Machine Socialist (probably a frenchie too) clone twit that, POSTS HERE!

Nicky...I gotta agree with you there.

He is a great actor. He'll take on anything and everything, and every time you think you have him pegged....he'll throw in another twist.

I just don't understand the whole "pick up and move to France" thing...but I will never deny or disparage his talent as an actor.

Truly an example of a young punk TV star who did it right. Is there anyone else from "21 Jump Street" who even made it close to Depp's level of international superstardom?

I don't think so...

Yup, and he has made some great movies that were totally outside the mainstream.

And Gnome there is a whole big world outside your trailer park and here's a newsflash.....other countries have movies, too. Where the guy chooses to live is his own business.

He took all your hard won American dollars........go outside and get from fresh air....the glue's getting to you again.

He's always been a very, very weird guy with his own ethos. Who the fuck knows why he does what he does. But I've got nothing against him for moving to France. Fuck, I'd love to have a shack on the Riviera...

I read an article on him in the early 1990s. He's genuinely a very quirky guy who claimed to have Tourette Syndrome, never carried a watch and was generally irresponsible, and generally had a lot of idiosyncrasies (like dating Winna Ryder :) )...

There is absolutely NO excuse to move to France unless you're very badly fucked in the head. And even THAT is arguable.

Hell, even TOM CRUISE didn't move to France.

Move OUT OF or AWAY FROM France, THAT makes sense. But never TO France.

Like they say in the song "Never goin' to get to France".

Cheers! :bottle:

Just because he lives in France makes him a US hater?

Pretty silly small minded chat. Plenty of European actors have moved the other way. Different people like different places to live. I saw an interview with him just a few weeks ago and he said that he likes France because he doesn't get recognised very often so can go to bars and grocery stores like a normal person.

Incidently tax is paid in the country it is earned so if he makes a film in Hollywood he's contributing to the US. Not to mention all the income he generates for the US by helping make US films popular elsewhere in the world.

You forget, Sesh, that for many, many Amerikaners, (notice, oh ye who have no such mentality, that I have written many, not all, and not even most) there is only two countries... US and THEM.

And they never, ever understand how is it possible for other people to live in THEM. It's just too weird for words.

Cheers! :bottle:

Johnny Depp and Leo DiCaprio are the greateast actors of their generation...without competition.

Both are already living legends, and will become the next Marlon Brando without the self destruction.

I used to think Al Pacino and DeNiro are great...and they are for the most part....but one dimensional...untouchable in the right role...but singular in dimension.

Johnny Depp especially has my respect for being an actor first, and a movie star second......But Leo and Johnny are untouchable.

Far and away the best actors....

Directors love working with Depp because he comes to act, takes it seriously, and realizes it's the directors film and not his. I guess he's wonderful to work with and talented. Also, lots of women want to sit on his cock.

I just never 'got' Depp. I mean, I suppose I could see why women might find him attractive, but in terms of his movie roles there are very few I'd consider even close to timeless. Wouldn't go so far as to say the guy outright can't act, but he's never really blown me away with a performance. More along the lines of adequate-to-good, and even in those instances it tends to owe more to the director or visual design of the film than Depp himself (Edward Scissorhands is an example of this).

Like, the last flick he starred in that I even considered seeing was whatever that Dlillinger movie that came out last summer was titled, and most of that desire had to do with Michael Mann directing it (at least I think Mann directed it...I seem to recall that was who shot it).

Personally, I don't care if he lives in France...afterall, he's married to a French wench.

To say Depp and DiCaprio are the best actors of their generation is simplistic. Where does one draw the age-line at "their generation?"

:umm:
