Sounds good with a real bass player. Those Music Mans are killer !! Have a red one that is beat too shit. That thing never goes out of tune. Sam must have ran out of the room when he heard a song with great riffs. He hasn't heard shit like that since Montrose !!

Thank God Almighty that the Cheddar Peddler didn't ever try to sing that!

If you ever heard the horrible Van Hagar versions of "Unchained" or "Runnin With the Devil", you can just imagine how sickening it would be.

Sammy fucking that shit up in a heartbeat or just waiting for Diamond Dave to jump over Alex and start wailing "ooh ... ooh ... I heard about cha lessons "

I betcha Eddie was missing Dave in that clip. It's like he was really looking for him.

Wow I've never seen that clip! I reckon those bozos and Sammy were done with each other by F.U.C.K. They must have been pretty keen to stay away from each other recording-wise in 1993, just a live album and then in '95 Balance, which had some pretty bad nostalgic beer ballads (Can't stop loving you, Not enough, Take me back) and you just knew it was over when you heard the screech-fest album closer, Feelin'.
People must have been telling Ed how mediocre Van Halen had become.

SAM: hey guys! i didn't know we had rehearsals. i'll get my mic. who wants tequilla?

ED: uh, no, sam, it's ok, we're not really rehearsing...

AL: it's just some instrumental. you're cool.

SAM: mike, tequilla?

MIKE: um...thanks, but maybe next time.

SAM: cool. i'm going to go think up some words that rhyme with "jive!"

Didn't Ronald McDonald say in his book or something that towards the end Ed and Al were playing classic =VH= songs at soundchecks that they knew he couldn't/wouldn't possibly sing just to piss him off?

I wouldn't trust anything that came out of that book, Trust me, it's 211 pages of Hagar whining about how much of an asshole Ronnie Montrose and Eddie are. The chapter that he joins Van Halen he makes it seem like he's fucking superior to Eddie when everyone knows its the other way around. Possibly the only speck of truth was the chapter about the 2004 faux-reunion, and of course everyone knew that Eddie was going through a hard time during that era, we didn't need Sammy's opinion.

He said it, yup - and I say, yay! Good for Eddie and Alex. They were pissing him off and giving him subtle hints that he wasn't the only singer that band ever had.

But he never retold that story in the official book that came out last year - it was in the one that he took out an injunction to stop, which was going to be called Red Storm Rising, which was ghost-written by some Texas journalist. It's much more juicy than the official one, judging from the excerpts that were floating around on the internet - about three chapters were out there.

Yeah, the brothers don't look good - but much as I hate Hagar, I believe him on what he says about them. It just fits with everything we've publicly seen.
