Which song do you pick... if you had to pick just one...

That all depends......

I'd pick D.O.A. over the 1984 version of "House of Pain" easily.

Now the original House of Pain.... that's a much tougher call. Probably have to take that over D.O.A.

And just in case anybody reading this has never heard it (like all the sheep that have been passing through lately.....)

Love the demo version of HOP but I also like the 1984 version, too.

For me it's D.O.A. even though it is a tough choice.

Both versions of HOP...to be honest...at least right now. I went through a period when DOA was my favorite vh tune...

D.O.A. for me...

Shouldn't this be in "CVH Albums & Music"? (jus sayin...) ;)

House of Pain.

It's not even close.......

I was never much of a fan of either version of HOP. IMO, it just doesn't have the hook that most CVH songs do, and DOA does. Just, my opinion.

Gotta go with DOA, and I'm a huge 1984 and early demos fan. But DOA is the shit.

A tough one, since House Of Pain is one of the better songs on 1984 (an album I find I'm listening to less and less as the years unwind), and I enjoy it just as much as the 70s demo version.

But D.O.A. is fucking killer-diller.

D.O.A.

For me, that one-two punch of Girl Gone Bad and House Of Pain is the highwater mark of the album. Always has been.

About the only tunes I listen to off of 1984 with any regularity anymore are Drop Dead Legs, Girl Gone Bad and House Of Pain.

The title track is filler - works good live as an intro to Jump, I suppose, but is uninspiring on record.

Jump I was never too crazy about to begin with, and have heard it way too many times.

Panama is good.

Top Jimmy I'll spin once in a great while if I'm in the mood.

Hot For Teacher is killer, but I overplayed the sumbitch too much: am burnt out on it.

Have never had much use for I'll Wait.

Stuff like this always remind me why I like classic VH. Those background vocals are KILLER!

I'm a spark on the horizon.. It's just got a heavy funk rhythm. So original.
