Gilmour Will Join Waters for One Date on The Wall Tour

STOP IT! Stop teasing the public you fuck heads! David Gilmour recently joined Roger Waters on stage at The Hoping Foundation Gig where together they performed four songs (link). Now comes word that Gilmour will join Waters during his upcoming The Wall tour. However, he will only join him during one gig and for, apparently, one song. Essentially, the two men are playing Just the Tip with the public's vagina. Waters posted the following on his Facebook account.

"To my eternal shame I bottled out (refused to play) and told Dave I would happily do 'Wish You Were Here' and 'C. Numb', but that 'To Know him is to Love him' was beyond me.

"Some weeks passed with David cajoling me from time to time, telling me how easy it would be, but I clung resolutely to my fear of failure until one day he made one final entreaty. I quote "If you do 'To Know Him Is To Love Him' for The Hoping Foundation Gig, I'll come and do 'C. Numb' on one of your Wall shows". Well! You could have knocked me down with a feather. How f**king cool!

"I was blown away. How could I refuse such an offer. I couldn't, there was no way. Generosity trumped fear. And so explaining that I would probably be s**te, but if he didn't mind I didn't, I agreed and the rest is history. We did it, and it was f**king great. End of story. Or possibly beginning."

"PS. Just heard from David, he will decide in due course which gig he wants to do, it will be a surprise!"

Slowly this relationship is being repaired and my initial steadfast position is starting to change. Initially I felt no tour was ever going to happen, and I still believe that. But maybe, just maybe we could get one off shows in key cities. Waters and Gilmour are so charity minded, why not do a few shows, charge a bundle, and have the proceeds go to a charity?

Awesome news. The tickets for the Waters' Wall tour are stout as hell. I'd say even when they are not playing for charity they are still charging a bundle. That being said, how often does anyone get to see Roger Waters live? Does this start the torch for a new album from a Waters version of Floyd and an accompanying tour? I damn sure hope so.

Isn't Snowy White part of Water's "Bleeding Heart Band?"

I have a feeling that Rick Wright's passing might have ended any possibility of a full Floyd reunion tour, but anytime you can get Waters & Gilmour on the stage together, it's a good thing.

You probably could have worded that a bit better.

I got my tix for Friday Night , October 29th. in St. Louis . Glad I got them the morning they went on sale 'cause now they are GONE !

I can't wait to see this show . It would be mighty cool if they re-visited Animals ( my favorite ) or Wish You Were Here in full blown tours .

Pink Floyd are in a class by themselves . They are appreciated by a cross section of rock fans .
