I just started cleaning it up this afternoooooooooooooon.. nothing special, just a black beak-head Kramer 2-hum.

It is 2 humbuckers, a Floyd and a 5-digit serial number starting with a F.

The neck has pencilled-in "F 903" and the body "F 922"

Does anyone know how to date these things? I can't play for shit anymore, and have probably changed strings 10 times in the last 20 years. So I used what I started out with, Ernie Ball 008 - 038's!

Yes I know, I'm gonna hear about it: "wow you'll get no bass with that 38 wound E string" and "what a wuss, he's using 008's again" that's fine. I've dished it out and I suppose I should take my own medicine, too.

Wanna see?

Just post the picture already. If it really exists...it's circa '86-90. The Voyager body I have is a C series, 83-84...

Trying this upload feature..

GAR

That one uploaded, here is another

I guess the reason I'm having trouble is, there's a BUG in the File Manager upload feature - the background lettering is WHITE and the background is also WHITE.

So when I click on the file in the folder with my pics, I can't see if they've been selected or not.

If I highlight with the mouse button, I can see the text of the file upload description.

This has to be fixed.

Boy, I won't be doing another pic thread like this again using the Uploader - photobucket was a pain in the ass too, but WAY faster than uploading here!

Now you know why I don't do pics. Bullshit took all day..

I got an old Kramer, perfect condition from a buddy of my dad's. You'll shit your pants when you see it. I'll start a thread for it soon.

Oh the plywood one. I had one of those.

What I don't like about the plywood Kramers is that they most often came with standard trems because they plys are too weak to support float trem pegs.

Yours uses a standard trem design to simulate floating tremolo pegs but using two mounting screws.

That's not acceptable.

You have two choices: Floyd, or standard Fender trem. A standard is the obv choice because it's easier.

The Floyd on mine was a bit harder retrofit than most guitars: it was top-routed 3-single rout like the classic Fender design, which came very close to the mounting screws.

The clearance was bout 5/16" of an inch, which I didn't modify with a router because I used a fucked-up '67 nitro pickguard.. stock single Fenders.

So when I first used a drill press for enlarging the pilot screw hole (3/16?) to support the "barrel" portion (1/4"?) of the pivot screw, I got break-out. The plys broke out sideways from lack of strength.

Even after filling with epoxy and re-drilling the bore of that hole, both pivot screws leaned forward slightly - forcing me to compensate by moving intonation points backward on the bridge.

With this body, you have lots of material between the pickup rout and where the pivot screw locations would be, but let me tell you that wood is a spongy, Phillipine Mahogany. I think you'd best suit it with a standard Fender trem.

Thing I've learned about parts guitars losses and insurance companies is: I could throw both our guitars into your car and set it ablaze, but only my guitar would get a check from them because I have that serial number.

That's right! I could write an invoice to myself for replacement value of $2000, which I'd give to my dealer so we could do drugs all nite.. and you'd be scratching your head over your $500 parts guitar loss. I know its' not fair, but maybe you should consider affixing any kind of decal and serial plate on that.

Consider writing the following companies for a free replacement decal: Kay, Carlo Robelli, Samick, Danelectro, Silvertone etc. I'm sure they'll kick you down something for twenty bucks.

Actually, I know where to get decals, and you wouldn't get shit because when the insurance company asked I'd say "What other guitar in my car set ablaze?" :fufu:

Sorry, Jay.

Again with the projection - you're the one that can be replaced by an immigrant. Not me. "Usted no tiene un trabajo", remember? :baaa:

So as far as career-paths go - where do you move up from the squat at the underpass to? Another janitorial gig?

ANYONE can be replaced by illegals, career or no career: http://immigrationcounters.com/

This whole "not me / won't affect me / doesn't touch me" is a falsehood floated by the liberal media, and you bought into the lie.

I thought Jay would rip me on the fact the guitar's a Focus 2000, yet he's so pleased I posted a pic of anything hes not mentioned it yet.

TWAS a free geetah.. I love free:

FREE Duncan JB
FREE Original Floyd w/nut
FREE Schaller Mini's
FREE neck, had a nice rosewood finggy.. but OH well, I flipped one part to pay for the rest.

- because I had an ESP Japan banana head.

Now it looks lot like the HFT guitar except it's a 2 hum

do the moderators argue like this all the time with the fans that post on this forum? Or is jhale a female who used to be gar's girlfriend & just has bad feelings for him? What's going on? Seems no one can get a topic going without a mooderator getting her/his feelings hurt and feeling the 'need to hurt the one they love the most'! What the hell?
