I missed last night's matches!! For some reason I got hooked on watching Spartacus on the other channel.

I can't believe that comeback by the Roosters, that's awesome! Normally I loathe to the bone the poshos from the Eastern Suburbs but glad to see them get over the Tigers (probably because I have some mates who are Tigers fans). And looks like the Raiders have become the dark horse in this final series...

Will have to watch The Sunday Roast for all the highlights.

Thanks mate! It was a good win. The only thing I'm a bit concerned over is all the penalty goals we opted to take when the scoreline was still fairly close - it was the very thing that did us in last year. I recall the when the Broncos knocked us out, Soward opted for a penalty goal in the early stages...from about 40m out!! Phil Gould had ants in his pants when he saw that.

You know Hopoate's son is playing for Manly now...I wonder if Dessie Hasler says to him at training, "Hey, cut out that finger-arse crap!!" :biggrin: Poor bastard would've copped plenty of that growing up.

the line... the st george defence was a wall. a red and white fucking wall.

Defence has been our key all year mate.

After the Tigers' tries I knew we would come away with it given we didn't concede anymore...and we'd just simply pump them full of pressure and we'd eventually get over the line. There was times for us during the game when being down on the scoreboard it looked we could've easily just panicked and become scattered, but it was good to see them maintain there patience and game-plan which is obviously the influence Wayne Bennett has had on us since becoming coach.

Roosters v Dragons next week. Two of the oldest renowned clubs in the history of the game. Roosters' last premiership in 2002; the Dragons' in 1979. Attack versus Defence. Smith versus Bennett. Fairytale versus Vindication. Boys, it doesn't get any better than this!

The AFL GF was a cracker also! (I was in Roosters territory watching it) After watching it I'm not so sure if I could stomach having a re-match - the first GF game was exciting enough. Collingwood fans would be shitting themselves big-time. Missed a few sitters to so many behinds - it all adds up come full-time.

Given there's x10 times more chance of having a draw in an NRL match than in an AFL match...should've been a fair bit.

Just watching Sunday Footy show now, they've got Centrebet advertising Dragons $1.50 at Roosters $2.30.

I ended up watching the game locally at Kogarah Jubilee Oval. Unfortunately, the Leagues Club down the road barred us from getting in because I foolishly let my membership lapse at start of the year. I tried to get them to reinstate it and pay whatever but they wouldn't allow that (c'mon, this ain't lodging an insurance application after the house has burnt down!!) They had a couple of screens at the ground (both on the hill area) but they weren't big enough as I had envisioned, so we ended up having to toughen it out in that bloody miserable rain because watching from the grand stands needed bloody binoculars to see it properly. Then we waited AGES till the players to come back show us the trophy...then the party started!! Everyone was lining up at the Leagues Club but still refused us entry...and found out later guy sadly got killed there by police force after a brawl (what a great way to spoil the victory n all!!) And everyone was blocking the main Princes Highway, police had to come to scramble everyone off the road...was bloody mayham!!

Not that I'm complaining, but personally I didn't think it was much of a game. It was too scrappy and marred by bad mistakes and bloody refs decisions. But I'm still yet to watch a reply which I wanna do see can get a better appreciation of it.

If so, I tell you that Bulldogs hooker who threw that intercept pass, his name is Col Brown, he used to be parents next-door neighbour before I was born. Well, I remember my Dad telling me he went up to him right after the game and asked why he threw that pass, and his response was, "He bloody yelled for it!" Since then when I've played a few league games socially I've managed to try that devious little technique...and sure enough, it certainly works! LOL!

ok. grant barracks for the 'saint george illawarra dragons'. they are the current premiers, and are coached by wayne bennet, the most successful coach in history. dan goes for the 'new zealand warriors', a team with big maori's whose bash and barge style is always entertaining. i support the 'south sydney rabbitohs' a foundation club which is owned by russell crowe. that's why the hats and jackets he gives oprah etc. have a bunny on them. they are the most successful team in history, but haven't won the big show since 1971. so pick a team, and enjoy the show.

i will be rooting/barracking for the "dragons" as well. SCORCH the mascot (while havin' a kinda fucked up "pete's gragon" face) is a hooker!

As far as SCORCH's concerned, there’s simply no downside to being a Dragon - he's strong, he can breathe fire and he can fly. Even better than being a Dragon is being the Mascot for the mighty St George Illawarra team. Where as he'll tell you in his jovial way - "this year's our year for sure." when i first watched your game, i pretty much got it straight away. the main diff is our blokes can't throw it forward, or tackle/block anyone without the ball. oh, and the attack has six tackles (offensive plays) to move the ball upfield before it's a handover. give it a go man, it really is an entertaining game.

Hey boys, just thought I'd share this:

For various (unfortunate) reasons I've been going on being out of work for 9 months now. Everything's been quite a rollercoaster journey lately; astrologers claim to equate it with a co-called 'Grand T-Square' from mid-last year and that I'm well into my first 'Saturn Return'...but I think I can finally sense things are now paying off and glorious opportunities are on the horizon.

Just hoping that it'll all work out well in the end, which I know it will. :)

just read your above post... mate, you're not the only one. in late 09 early 10 i had a drastic downturn in my own business. being self employed in a smallish town, i'm a pretty good barometer for the economy. but second half 10 up to now, it's been steadily improving so i reckon good times are coming..... as long as the fucking air tax doesn't happen:)

Yeah, as for me, the start of '10 saw me dealing with a devastating break-up of someone who meant the world to me (and kinda still does) which ended in the worst possible way. (Sometimes, I wonder how lucky I am that I didn't wind up in gaol for doing something impulsively out-of-character, I brooded over watching The Godfather for awhile, having Italian blood in me I can relate)...coupled with that, at the same time I was working in a very toxic work environment, we had a real wanker of a manager who couldn't conduct a proper healthy work environment, he even once physically threatened me in his office with door shut (he got sacked eventually)...come June, I had to force leave work cause undertook some alternative therapy treatment which threw me into an emotionally bad state, so gave work the flick, had to take time off to relax, became a couch potato, went through my Jim Morrison 1970 period, almost got hooked Days Of Our Lives for a moment, listening to loads of AM talk-back radio over how bad Julia Gillard really is, and ever since been needing to take things easy and try and survive and leave payouts, Centrelink, mortgage suspension, and borrowing money...actually, in hindsight hasn't been that bad but sometimes does seem that way, and it's been a nice break even wasn't planned for...but past few days been getting loads of job offers, and talking about really good ones would never have dreamt of.
