It's hard to believe, but it's been two years since Al passed away. You know you've left an imprint when it still feels like he's here...

So with that said, let's keep it simple, and make it a tradition every year...

Let's tip one to Roth Army's very own Toastmaster General...AlinChainz, and in his very own forum to boot...

Here's to you Mick...

Would've been cool to pound down a few with him in person....

For obvious reasons, this weekend has been one of somber reflection for many. After watching a series of documentaries on the History channel last evening, it would suffice to say that I woke up feeling fairly burnt out, even with the anticipation of several hours of NFL viewing coming up.

Toward some full disclosure here, Al and I only crossed paths on a few occasions, so I am not about to pretend that he and I were close friends, and no, I did not know the man well enough to call him Mick. Yet I must say, if anyone reading this is feeling the blues, I highly recommend doing what I did this morning:

On a whim after seeing this thread, I went back and reread several of Al's posts. While doing so, I found myself literally laughing out loud, a phrase that is used all too commonly when applied to mundane humor, but it certainly is not the case here. The guy's devious wit will have you doubling over, particularly with his scathing and unrelenting shots fired at Joe Thunder. Seriously, if you knew the guy or not, his postings will brighten the gloom, yet at the same time also point out why and how deeply the man is missed.

Here's to you, Al. It is to my own unceasing regret that I did not know you better.

Although I only spoke to Al via PM outside of the general forums a couple of times, you could tell he was totally cool. We had a common love of AIC as well as VH. R.I.P. Mick.

Gone, but never forgotten. He left an indelible imprint on this place. And that was a GOOD thing.

It's odd...if you go HERE (http://rotharmy.com/febnews.shtml), there is a listing for "The Wall". However, when you click on it, it does nothing.

Brethren and Sistren,

Yes, indeed, cheers to a fallen brother. I didn't know Mick personally, but he made a positive impression on this site and community. He continues to be remembered and missed.

That is all.

To Al!

I only spoke with him a couple of times, so I didn't really know him all that well, but what I've read from him shows what a cool guy he was...

Cheers! :bottle:

I miss you like crezzi, Micky!!

Mick was a true Roth fan and proud member of the Roth Army Militia. He was so friggin stoked when he spoke to Dave on the phone that time. I could feel him grinning when he told me about it. I was so happy for him!
He was always here with a cool word to say in birthday threads and holiday threads, he loved this place and (most of...lol) the members here.
Yeah, we had some great chats and I have awesome memories of him always in my corner when things got wild around here. LOL.

Thanks for always being a friend. :)

The only people Al couldn't stand were the douchebags...

The funniest think about Al? When I would get ready to tear someone a new asshole...he'd be the one to calm me down....

Then five minutes later...he'd be shredding Katydid or Thunder...

I can't tell you how many times he'd say...

"I really need to take my own advice..."
