Van Halen Producer Ted Templeman Still Making Bands Sound Killer!!!

... might be repeating an already reported vh bulletin but here goes ...

... the doobie brothers have a new release and it was produced by none other than the inimitable ted templeman. i didn't know templeman was still working and this could be good news for those hoping for a new templeman-produced van halen recording ...

... unfortunately donn landee isn't the engineer on the doobie bros. material but who gives a flying fuck, at least ted's still at it ...

It would be cool if he worked with them again. He would probably recommend getting Bassplayer be once he heard the kid...

It would be interesting to know if Ed stopped using silverware, as well.

Last thing I heard that Ted produced was Joan Jett from the mid-2000s. He did two of her albums around then. I've only heard this tune, which is good.

Another reason Ted is needed is because he would help them weed out tunes that maybe aren't good enough - that was always part of his job as the A&R guy. Here's the Joan Jett tune, produced by Ted, from an album called 'Sinner', I think:

... thanks for the joan jett track. that's ted templeman production at its very best ...

... i listened to the doobie brothers cd. it's got a variety of music/production styles including a jazz-sounding track and a electronic/sample tune to finish off the disc. ted's production of guitars and vocals is still stellar ...

... interesting that ted has popped up out of nowhere on the eve of a new project (hopefully) from the mighty van halen ...
