NEW YORK -- Representatives from the NBA and its players' association have completed another meeting to discuss a new collective bargaining agreement.

NBA spokesman Mike Bass says Thursday's session included "frank and direct dialogue" of some key issues and the sides agreed to meet again in December.

The CBA expires June 30, 2011, and owners are seeking significant changes in the next one. Commissioner David Stern said last month the league wants salary costs slashed by $700 million to $800 million, about a third of what it pays out now.

Players are resisting the changes, and both sides have said progress must be made by February's All-Star Game to avert fears of a lockout.

The NBA better be careful. They already are losing interest in teams in the smaller markets, a lockout could cripple them. They should ask the NHL or MLB about it.

You know...the thing about the NBA...is it's coming off this giant fucking fiasco this past summer with LeDick...

and there truly is a lack of interest...

a long-term lockout...may end the league...

However...they have the right idea...
