    Say Goodbye to the Spectrum

    Where I'm from in PA, we don't even consider Philadelphia part of Pennsylvania, but I'll make an exception in this case....

    The old Spectrum is getting demolished today.... By my count in the DLR/VH calendar, I show that DLR-era Van Halen played there 10 times, with DLR solo playing there 4 times....

      That's a shame. I caught many shows there, most memorable of which was one of the Diver Down shows.

      Easily it was one of the top 3 concerts I've ever seen. Not bad for a ticket that cost 9.50 .

          While I've never seen a show there...my first NBA game was at the Spectrum...circa Doc J, Mo Cheeks, Darryl Dawkins and Bobby Jones...

                              Didn't the Spectrum have it's own closed circuit TV system and it was used to film concerts, wrestling house shows and other events?
