SYDNEY – Singer Jimmy Buffett fell off a stage at the end of a concert in Sydney and was rushed to the hospital.
Australia's Daily Telegraph reports that audience members saw the 64-year-old fall face first off the stage and hit his head.
Buffett's manager then took the stage and urged fans to leave the auditorium, the Hordem Pavillion.
The singer was brought to Sydney's St. Vincent's Hospital.
Wednesday night's concert was Buffett's fifth and last in Sydney on his current tour.

He was reportedly bleeding and unconscious for about 10 minutes, with security and staff at his side until paramedics arrived, said the Sydney Morning Herald, which had video of the fall and the announcement afterward saying the show was over. Results of a CAT scan were normal, TMZ said.

UPDATE: Jimmy has been released from the hospital and is doing well.

As you probably already know, Jimmy had an accident while performing in Sydney last night and was taken to the hospital. The doctors say he is doing well and will be released tomorrow. More info as we get it, and thank you for all of your well-wishes!

Jimmy plummeted off the stage in Australia last night and crashed HARD into the concrete floor -- and the devastating accident was all captured on tape ... and obtained by TMZ
The footage shows Buffett casually strolling towards the front of the stage when he clearly misjudges the end ... and literally steps off the edge.

Moments after Buffett hit the ground, security rushed to the singer's aid.

As we first reported, Jimmy appeared to be knocked unconscious for 10-15 minutes after the fall -- and suffered a nasty gash on his head. Jimmy was taken to St. Vincent's Hospital in Sydney and is in stable condition.

UPDATE: According to Buffett's website he is "doing well and will be released tomorrow."

New Zealand performance cancelled
Jimmy was scheduled to perform at the Auckland Viaduct on Te Wero Island this Saturday night but unfortunately, he will be cancelling the New Zealand show to allow himself time to recover from his injuries. Jimmy would like to thank all of his fans for their support, and wants them all to know that he will return.
