Former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Irvin has settled a civil lawsuit that accused him of sexual battery against a woman.

As part of a confidential settlement announced in Miami in federal court, Irvin's $100 million defamation countersuit will be dropped, per the Daily Business Review.

"The parties finally came to their senses," attorney David P. Lister said."The settlement was just reached last night."

The woman filed a lawsuit Feb. 4 in Broward County Florida for unspecified damages for a sexual assault that allegedly happened in 2007 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

No charges were filed and the woman signed a waiver of prosecution.

Friedman accused the woman of "civil extortion," saying her story is untrue.

Friedman called the lawsuit "civil extortion," saying the woman's entire story is false.

She alleged that Irvin got her drunk and raped her with another man forcing her to perform oral sex.

Irvin once plead no contest to cocaine possession in 1996.

He was accused once before of sexual assault, but the woman later admitted it wasn't true.

Irvin is an NFL Network analyst. He worked previously for ESPN.
