I was lsitening to a few of their early albums for the first time in a few years.

They sound like a weedier version of Yes, a total imitation, like if a Yes tribute band was given a recording contract.

They are listed as progressive rock, but can a band that copies another so closely really be "progressive"?

My friends and I always thought that Starcastle were "progressively goofy", because they needed two guitar players to cover Steve Howe's guitar parts. I guess the proper term to call them would be progressively derivative.

The bass playing is truely awesome, the rest of the instrumentalists are meh.

Not terribly bad, but nothing really great, either.

A must for anyone that thinks Yes didn't make enough albums in the 70's. (like me)
