Campaign grows to set early bump day for Donald Trump
A groundswell of pressure is starting to build on Indianapolis 500 officials to dump Donald Trump as pace car driver at this month's race.
A Facebook page has rallied more than 5,300 supporters who have placed calls or posted comments on social media sites of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, corporate sponsor IZOD and Chevrolet, sponsor of the pace car program.
They want Trump, well, fired.
"Driving the pace car should not be used as a sound board for some terrible businessman to spew his political aspirations," said racing fan Chris Hughes, Indianapolis. "Especially with this being the 100th anniversary."A NATION OF COWARDS - Jeffrey R. SnyderComment

They didn't fire Trump. He said he can't do it because of scheduling conflicts because the pace car driver needs to get some training before the race. Trump must lease some space to Izod because that is who asked him to be a driver. I didn't know Izod was still around. They made those aligator shirts in the 80's. Maybe they make a line of golf clothes or something. Anyways, Trump is a high end name and Izod probably ties to him with high end clothes or golf or something.
It was a marketing decision. They always have a new car to show off and someone strategically chosen to drive it to get attention and to tie the sponsor in with. Trump is a big name in golf now.No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!Comment
