Captain America calls Obama a fucking traitor

CANNES, France (AFP) – Peter Fonda launched a four-letter attack on US President Barack Obama at the Cannes film festival on Wednesday, calling him a traitor over the handling of the aftermath of the Gulf oil spill.

The star of the 1969 road movie "Easy Rider" was in Cannes for the premiere of "The Big Fix" by Rebecca and Josh Tickell, the only feature documentary in the official selection at the Cannes film festival this year.

Fonda -- a keen environmentalist and co-producer of the film which centres on the explosion of the BP oil rig Deepwater Horizon, the ensuing spill and its consequences -- accused Washington of trying to gag reporting on the issue.

"I sent an email to President Obama saying, 'You are a f(expletive) traitor,' using those words... 'You're a traitor, you allowed foreign boots on our soil telling our military -- in this case the coastguard -- what they can and could not do, and telling us, the citizens of the United States, what we could or could not do'."

Fonda, who said he sent the email last week, appears in "The Big Fix" trying to get on to Louisiana beaches to assess the impact of the biggest oil spill in US history, only to be turned away by BP clean-up personnel.

Speaking at a press event at the American Pavilion to promote the film, Fonda denounced BP as "a bunch of Brits -- I thought we kicked them out a long time ago. They tried to get back in in 1812, but they didn't make it."

It just proof that Obama is a puppet of multinational corporations. He's letting them run the country and they don't even pay taxes here. The American citizens need to wake the hell up and realize they run the country, the corporations don't, and the politicians work for us. It's like running a store. He's not a good actor. Yeah I doubt those BP security people were British. Probably bought off Americans. Fonda makes it sound like The Brits invaded Louisiana again and The Battle of New Orleans II is about to get going.

The company actually changed it's name from British Petroleum to BP Amaco in 1998 round about the time Britain sold it. People assume BP is an acronym but it isn't, it doesn't stand for anything. They may have a headquarters in London but they don't pay tax there and are much bigger in the US.

They have a shady past and for many years were called the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company which I guess had drawbacks.

Anyhoo if most of the staff aren't British, it's not registered in Britain or owned by British, doesn't pay tax in Britain and it's dropped its British name I don't see what Fonda man child is twatting on about.

He needs to grow up and understand the power and nature of multinational corporations, he's missing the point with this 'British' crap.

Basically everyone around the world are being fucked over by these corporations. Fonda is right about one thing. Obama is a traitor but he thinks he can get away with anything because he has powerful banking and corporate backers. He is losing a lot of the base that bought into his hope and change crap. Obama's big weakness is he is so out of touch with reality, he has no idea nor does he care.
