They say age ain't nothin' but a number, and Lost actor Doug Anthony Hutchison clearly takes that credo to heart.

The 51-year-old actor – who most recently played DHARMA leader Horace Godspeed on Lost, has revealed that he married 16-year-old aspiring country singer Courtney Alexis Stodden in Las Vegas in May.

Hutchison, who was also praised for his role as a prison guard in The Green Mile, posted his happy announcement on his personal website.

"Doug Anthony Hutchison and Courtney Alexis Stodden became husband and wife on Friday May 20th, 2011, at 12 pm in The Little Chapel of Flowers in Las Vegas, Nevada," he wrote.

"Mr. and Mrs. Hutchison live together happily ensconced in their Hollywood Hills home with their lil' pups, Everette and Tuna."

He also shared with E! Online his feelings about the 35-year age difference between himself and his new bride.

"We're aware that our vast age difference is extremely controversial," he said. 'But we're very much in love and want to get the message out there that true love can be ageless."

Can't help growing old, but I refuse to grow up, so that's not an issue.
Meh, I used to think that was the case - it's an issue I wrestle with less as I get older, but being still single musician-type and working in an industry heavily populated by 20 and 30-something (hot) girls (I know, sucks to be me), I could exploit my situation if I chose to (have before!). And while I'm not the "shit where you eat" guy lately (stopped getting ink from the company well - the inner-office one at least -4 years ago), if I'm hanging out with them socially and their friends or someone I encounter that's their age, start hitting on me, I'm an idiot if I don't act on it because of some "she's too young" bullshit. The question more is "Does she think I'm too old". I honestly can't see myself going below half my age (which is now-barely legal to drink still, thank you). though. At that point it IS like "what do you talk to them about". I know some reeeeeally together for their age mid-20s girls, that weren't around seemingly when I was that age but I was primarily hanging out with full-time rock sluts. Unfortunately some would say, I'm not into that many ladies my own age, they've already had kids and done their thing. I still kinda want to be a dad a few years down the road before I get too old, not gonna happen by that time with someone in my demographic.

Actually have dated 10 yrs younger so far, and was hanging with a girl 15 years my junior a couple of years back and expressed a twinge of guilt to my now 20-something niece (I mean, it's her demographic, y'know?) and she's like "What the fuck is your problem? Most guys your age would KILL to have girls my age still talk to them, much less... and they DO, and you're complaining?? I mean, if I don't have a problem with it, how can YOU?" She's right...

But yeah, I'm in my early 40s and I can't fathom marrying a 16-yr old. Twenty-something, sure. I mean who does he think he is, Bill Wyman?
