HOUSTON - An investigation is underway after someone fired two shots at the windows of Congressman Gene Green’s office on Tuesday morning, a spokeswoman for the congressman says.

There were no injuries, and the congressman was not in his office at the time.

A spokeswoman tells FOX 26 News it was called in just after 11 a.m. in the 200 block of North Sam Houston Parkway East. Workers in the building originally thought the gunshots were the sound of a car backfiring, but they soon discovered two bullet holes in the windows.

It did not immediately appear Green was a target.

The Houston Police Department and the Harris County Sheriff’s Department responded to the call and are investigating.

Green, a Democrat, is the U.S. Representative for Texas's 29th congressional district. His northside office is in a building with other businesses, including a television facility.

Nope.. Because the law in Texas, is that if you catch somebody fucking your wife, you can shoot them both. But only if you catch them in the act.

Shots fired at Knoxville Bush-Cheney office; no one hurt
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Gunshots shattered the plate-glass front doors of a local Bush-Cheney campaign headquarters Tuesday morning before volunteers reported to work.

"For someone to use that level of violence to try to make a political point, it is just a shock," said Chad Tindell, Knox County Republican chairman.

Police believe someone pulled up to the Kingston Pike Shopping Center storefront of Bush-Cheney Victory 2004, the state GOP's grass-roots support organization, between 6:45 and 7:15 a.m. ET and began firing.

SALISBURY, Md. - A single gunshot was fired into the front of the Maryland Republican Party’s Salisbury Victory Field Office Tuesday, shattering the glass door.

No one was hurt in the shooting.

Police say the shot was fired early Tuesday morning and it does not appear that anyone was in the building at the time.

Police have no suspects or motives at this time
