So...Texas and Oklahoma may or may not be leaving the big 12...

and Texas A&M wants to...but the SEC wants the big 12 to just let them go.

Now...

Syracuse and Pitt have apparently applied to the ACC...

Mega-conference time...

Big 10 lurking...my guess is they don't make a move until Notre Dame's hand is forced...then they go after ND...with a bevy of other midwest teams in the mix. The Big East has been done for awhile...

Teams that could be in the mix:

Rutgers
Kansas
Kansas St.
Iowa St.
Missouri
West Virginia

My best guess here is that they'll nab Rutgers, Iowa St., Mizzou and WVU to get to 16...but we'll see.

If university standards have anything to do with it...then I bet WVU would be out...

of course...Michicrap is in the conference...so anything is possible...

Sure you knew this already, but Nebraska is in the Big 10 already as well....

Love the move for Pitt... Big East basketball is a dogfight every year, and they have some great rivalries with teams like UConn, but playing in the ACC would be outstanding....

Not to mention that it's a definite upgrade for their football program....

Brethren and Sistren,

Fuck all this super duper mega conference bullshit. It's getting out of hand, the greed is palpable. Or something approximating...

Here's my plan:

The Big 12 just needs to bring in Notre Dame and BYU to replace Colo and Neb, and if they can't cut a deal with A&M to stick around, they hire some lawyers to get Boise or TCU out of the MWC which they (Boise) could probably cry breach of contract since they join and then Utah and BYU split with TCU ready to bail as well.

The "New" Big 12 is: Texas, TTech, Baylor, BoiseSt, Kansas, KState, OU, OKST, IowaSt, Missouri, ND, BYU. (TCU and A&M to make it Big 14).

I don't want to hear all the problems with my plan, etc. Was stupid to let Neb and Colo go, since the above with these guys still in the fold would make a decent Big 16.

So that's my Plan A.

Plan B is a Mini conference: Texas (South), OU (North), Notre Dame (East), BoiseSt (West).

That is all.

And now I'm reading that UConn is aggressively negotiating with the ACC, as well as West Virginia with the SEC.....

If Notre Dame was any good...they could fucking cause a clusterfuck in all these plans...

but ass it stands...since they are essentially a bitch on the field (but a giant on the TV screens)...they're hand isn't as solid as it once was.

UConn to the ACC makes perfect sense. West Virginia makes sense to the SEC...since academically...they are shit...like a few of the SEC schools. Not a perfect fit for the Big 10 schools.

ND isn't going anywhere...

unless they go Big 10...or try and put some wind in the Big East sails. Like I said...I'm sure the Big East looks real good to Notre Dame since they'd own the conference now...and that's ultimately what they want....not to be the bitch at the ball in the B1G 10.

What!!!!

Nebraska's in the B1G 10! What!!!!!

WHAT!!!!

BOOOOM!!!!

Not sure what the fuck the Big 10 is doing in all this fucking mess. Would have loved to have Pitt join...decent academics...solid athletics...and a natural fit with Penn St. in the fold...which also would have made WVU an athletic fit.

Really starting to look like Kansas, Kansas St, Iowa St. and Missouri might be the B1G 10 play. If Notre Dame is part of the equation...well...who knows.

Love the ACC with UConn, Cuse and Putt involved. Would love to see the high and mighty here in Tobacco Road fucked in the acorn yearly.

And I'm fucking sick of the mid-majors bitching and moaning. Let them form their own little fucking brothers big conference...and call it the Bowl Championship Division...

uh...oh...

WVU in the SEC?

It just seems funny...

SEC grabs WVU and Texas Tech...that puts them at 14...wonder where they go for the other two? TCU, who's moving into the Big East...maybe a team like Louisville with their natural rivalry with Kentucky...Memphis...

I don't mind the fucking decimation of all that is right in the world. Fuck it.

I just wish a couple of schools would have the balls to fuck it all to hell. I'd love for a Texas/Oklahoma/Florida...someone (with actual clout Icon...lmfao...not ND) just fucking say...Fuck you NCAA...we're doing our own damn thing...and don't need your fucking bowls...

I like the rivalry returning by adding Syracuse and Pitt...would love to see W VA in the ACC ,,,but it doesnt add to the BCS claim..less non-conf games..Va Tech usually schedules a Boise or Bama..now we get Syracuse instead.

Why wouldn't WVU add to the "BCS Claim." They have both an outstanding football and basketball program...that's certainly the equal of Tech...i mean...aside the fact that mostly inbreds goto WVU...

I see what you're saying...syracuse and pitt doesn't add...with the non-con...

I'm sure WVU doesn't fit in the ACC's academic structure...

I am in favor of W Va over Syracuse...Pitt is a good addition..just not for BCS pts,

Why didnt the ACC try to get TCU?,,Big East soon right?

POJO_Risin

In basketball...Pitt is a top ten team year in and year out. In football...with the right coach. Pitt's in the fucking hotbed of recruiting. If they could land a class...they'd be a top ten football team as well...

Where are you Johnnie Majors and Jackie Sherrill!!!!????!!!!

Why didnt the ACC try to get TCU?,,Big East soon right?

Chripes....who knew back then (what...two months ago?) that the Big East would look like a bag of cunts?

I really think the ACC started talks with Syracuse and Pitt during the Big 10 discussions...since both schools were mentioned as possibly joining the Big 10. Syracuse is a clear ACC fit...and helps bridge the BC corridor. Pitt is arguably the most well-rounded Big East school...high academics...and certainly a team on the Big 10 board...

just made sense. TCU just doesn't...

My best guess here is that the ACC nabs UConn...and perhaps Rutgers to fill out their 16 team league...nice balance...and all legitimately Atlantic Coastal schools...with Pitt a bit of an exception...but still fits the general region...

Gotta give the ACC fucking props...there was talk early last week that conferences were going to start cherrypicking ACC schools...

That's clearly over at this point...

Now the ACC will likely be the first or second (Pac Douche) set at 16...

I believe I heard they raised the penalty to leave the conf ( ACC )..from 12 mil to 20..nobody will be defecting

"Exit fee" it is called

"Exit fee" it is called

A school could fight that...but since all the members voted it in...why would they leave. At this point...the ACC is as strong as ever. Of course...it's a 27 month process...so there's still two years until it happens.
