On the new Steel Panther album, 'Balls Out', Dave gets a mention.

On the track 'I Like Drugs' towards the end there is a skit with Panther singer Michael Starr (Ralph Saenz) being chased by the cops.

Click Here for an excerpt! (http://www.mediafire.com/?qf69cn7rf3o7wiz)

I'm guessing this was recorded before they were booked to tour the UK with Motley Crue in December... :)

Ralph was of course formally the singer of infamous Van Halen tribute band, and Roth solo musician feeder tank, The Atomic Punks.

The extraordinary new Panther album, 'Balls Out' is due for release in the US on November 1st, slightly earlier in the UK and Japan.

More info on them here http://steelpantherrocks.com and we have a thread Here (http://www.rotharmy.com/forums/showthread.php?63045-New-Steel-Panther-Single)

I saw them on TV once real quickly. I think they were just adding clips to a game show.

Their guitar player's no slouch, that's for sure.

Seems like the lyrics they use would squash their chances of airplay, but still humorous.

Brethren and Sistren,

It doesn't get better than this baby!!!! I don't feel tardy!!!

"Death to Papa Roach, Blink 182, all those fuckin' pussies sound like doggie too!"

"Wearin' baggy pants, spikin' up their hair, they ain't worth the crust on my underwear!"

"Fuck Mariah Carey, death to Cheryl Crowe, they can kiss each other on the cameltoe!"

"50 Cent's a fag so is Kanye West, shooting' hot sperm on each other's chest!" (as illustrated by double-fisting to imaginary cocks)

I hope these guys are at the Grammys this year.

That is all.

Above average!

Make sure you aren't late for the gig, I saw it last Friday and Panther were on sharp at 18:30!

Since it's an upside down line-up with the pointless band closing it's important to treat it like a military operation. There is another Steel Panther thread at http://www.rotharmy.com/forums/showthread.php?63045-New-Steel-Panther-Single

I'l be the first one to say it, if these guys really tried to put out a serious record they'd get airplay. I know, Steel Panther had a U.S. nationwide commercial with Best Buy. But if these guys really tried they'd be all over classic rock radio, hair-nation, etc. Russ and Ralph are the two best in the biz when it comes to Dave and Ed. I don't expect them to live in that shadow - but wouldn't it be cool if they truly did their own thing? I'm just saying...

They are definitely currently better live, vocally and instrumentally, than the people they parody.

Watching them supporting Crue and Leppard made that very obvious.

So much so that I worry that they may not get offered something like that again.

True, they are amazing musicians... but opening acts that regularly upstage the headliner usually have problems down the line...or have to start headlining their own shows...

Metal Skool (nka Steel Panther) are awesome.
When I was in LA they played the Key Club every Monday night.
This was the only place to be on Mondays.
There was always naked chicks on stage at some point of the night and there was almost always a celebrity brought on stage to sing with them.
Just check out youtube to see all the guests they have.
Scott Ian, Juliette Lewis, Pink, Some American Idol singers, football players........they run the gammet.
They are very entertaining and are pretty spot on with their cover songs.
They might play some of the Crue and Def Leppard songs better than the real band.
Absolutely worth checking them out.
Especially if you can get to one of their headlining shows.
