MTV- The First To Rape The Occupiers With A Cold Reality

MTV To Create Reality Show On Occupy Wall Street Movement

By Elizabeth Walsh on October 25, 2011

On November 5 at 6pm, MTV will air ‘True Life: I’m Occupying Wall Street.’ The show will follow selected individuals from Zuccotti Park, one geographical hub of a now-global movement that prides itself on being anti-hierarchical and working in solidarity for change. The network posted an advertisement on Craigslist looking for volunteers aged 20-24 to submit their photos and biographical information to the network. Craigslist seems a rather ironic approach, given that its intended cast is available 24/7 only a few subway stops from the network studios.

MTV’s focus through this episode of True Life will be on recent graduates who are struggling to find work in the economy, despite the promises of their education. The episode is sure to generate criticism and opinions from both the 99% and the 1%, but what does it mean specifically for protestors and those who support the movement but cannot be at Zuccotti Park daily?

As the Occupy Movement spreads, so too does the meaning of the term ‘occupy.’ As participants at the Washington Square General Assembly (a part of the Occupy movement that stands in solidarity with Zuccotti, but operates autonomously, just as other Occupy movements around the globe) have pointed out, ‘to occupy’ is much more than physically taking control of a space. Some have referred to the Occupy Movement as a ‘consciousness revolution,’ asking the 99% to participate in a proactive measure to end apathy and engage in political dialogue in public space – which may take a variety of forms.

So, when MTV airs its episode on Occupy Wall Street, will the occupiers have begun to occupy the entertainment space as well?

So what's the betting this is just another provocateur ploy? Since Viacom who owns MTV, The Daily Show, Rolling Stone and any other shit controlled media outlet my best guess they'll (Viacom) will make this appear to be cutting edge while at the same time showing only what they want you to see.

We should stage an 'Occupy MTV' event where we force those douche-nozzles to actually play "Music."

They couldn't already be running out of knocked-up 14-year-olds & drunk vapid bozo hookers to fill their programming schedule. Now they're going to send in some imbeciles to 'play' protester??
Oh, this is going to end badly.

The real irony here will be if MTV can market this crap to viable advertisers - many, if not all, corporate.

        How interesting.

Even deeper irony is that there will be someone actually receiving a fucking check for being there, from one of the very corporations the people are protesting against.
How can the outcome of this asinine idea be anything other than violent?

            Exactly.

"Hey, allow us full access to film you, shouting down with The Man and hopefully make an ass out of yourself in the process. Oh, and by the way, here's your check signed by The Man himself."

When MTV feels like they should do their " journalistic duty " to report on the pulse of

              young America ,

I am convinced now more than ever before that the dumbing down of America continues.......

This whole Occupy Wall Street thing is a fake protest movement. It's basically selling a chicken in every pot to the young heads full of mush. This has come a long long way from Hot For Teacher MTV where it went from buy a ticket yourself to see the capitalistic Van Halen to government provided bread and circuses.

The problem with the strategy is the smart people will see through the bullshit and not fall for it and the dumb assholes are too lazy and unmotivated to be much use for anything including a communist revolution. They are too soft and weak.

Like some old cuss like George Soros is going to understand todays pathetic youth. They are even more pathetic to be any use to him.

The Occupy movement is a real grassroots effort, unlike the KKKoch invented teabaggers. Of course that doesn't mean the corporatist "Democrats" aren't trying to steal it, but the Occupiers are smarter than the drooling teabaggers, so they'll see through that shit.

Trust me, I invented protesting. I damn well know the difference.

No it's not. It's too organized. There is too much money behind it. This is all a huge redistribution of wealth promotion trying to get people to support a socialist movement that will come in later. Basically it's trying to get people to roll over, give in their personal liberties for some false promises so the masses can be more easily controlled. When you no longer can own your own property and the government provides everything, you are a slave at the mercy of whoever controls the system. It's all about herding lemmings more than justice for the banking and political crimes. It's all running on emotion and hype. Not the two things you want to base any big decisions on.

Adbusters, Moveon.org, and public unions are real grassroots, aren't they?

Like I said, the intelligent people won't fall for it. Who will are the stupid lazy people. So I guess the next revolution will be the motivated and intelligent against the stupid and lazy. Gee. I wonder who is going to win that one?

Like I say, when you smell the fake cheese it's time to pass it up. Occupy Wall Street should appeal to Sammy Hagar fans. He will probably be on MTV with Chicken Foot singing about needing a job soon enough. They should be serving McRibbs to the protesters. Fake food for a fake movement.

Of course the paid off police who's job it is to smack some people around to try and set off a riot might beat, taze, and pepper spray Hagar and how could that be a bad thing?

George soros is a true piece of shit.

he's a hedge-fund manager from the 80's, and this is where he made his billions of dollars...which is ironically what he has rallied these protesters against.

him, and others like the koch brothers are trying to destroy this country.
