So AJW gets attacked for no reason other than he pointed out the fact that tickets are selling badly. They attack him, they attack me for defending him. So I posted this...I think it sums certain things up well...
Until now, until I heard the tracks for this latest concert, I've never accused Sam of having lost his voice. But he has. Those vocals were not only screeching but really out-of-tune. I have perfect pitch. I can hear it.
Furthermore, pointing out that Dave's being washed-up confirms that Sam should be back is ridiculous. Even if Sam's voice is in better shape, that doesn't mean Sam should be there. It's about voice quality, but gee...it's also about attitude. That's like saying Celine Dion should replace James Brown in his band because she has a better voice and is in better shape. I mean...the guy can't sing the way he used to. And he's getting old. But he's still James Brown. And she's Celine Dion. And she sucks. And he doesn't.
Get it?
The boot I heard and the giant picture of a man approaching 60, weighing 500 lbs and wearing what looked like a giant red tomato outfit make me embarressed for Van Halen. And if some of you out there think he looks and sounds good and is writing good material with UP FOR BREAKFAST, then all power to you. But pointing out that Dave is not the Dave of 1984 is not going to change the majority of the public that Sam is cool. Cuz he isn't.
And furthermore, myself or AJW did not come here looking for another Sam vs. Dave fight. But the guy pointing out ticket sales and getting attacked for it is kinda sad.
