Word to advise the VH camp; give the fans freedom to record, photograph or whatever...the music lovers will go to You Tube, Twitter to read, hear and see about the return of the century. That's FREE advertising for ya! Top it off with media campaigns and see how big this blast will be!

Looks like they are realizing this already with the feed to VHND and Roth Army so far, take it up a notch and use the inter-net-work.

It would be really good for us yes. However, from the band point of view i would guess having recordings of the new stuff would retract some of the bang when it goes on sale.I would love to hear it but i think it will be all the more to have a complete album full of surprises rather than having a few tracks i am familiar with.

They are permitted to bring small cameras... I know my small camera shoots pretty decent videos as well....

Supposedly 'Net access sucks in there, so we'll see how many updates we get DURING the show...

I wondered at one point about getting one of the members in the military to borrow something to get around that but that's maybe going a bit far... :)

The Grateful Dead always let the fans record and film what they wanted. It never hurt their pocket book. One way to get around the problem of downloading is offer a pay to access website that has some cool stuff that you can't get anywhere else on the net. If VH put some videos, inteviews and stuff that you can't find anywhere else, people would pay to access it. The artist just has to offer something other people can't that's worth paying for. You can't market bands the same old way.

This Cafe Wha gig exclusive to the media only is a bit perplexing.

Why play new material for the music critics first? Seems a little dangerous ---- what if half of them dont like it? Seems like a dumb way to kick off a huge tour with negative reviews before album is even released.

UNLESS --- the new shit is actually that fucking good that the band and Interscope are brave enough to let these wolves feast on the new shit and then tell the world about it ?!?

I like the risk-taking ----- but if the new stuff is mediocre, then VH could be slashing their own throats here.

Also ----- VHND is reporting there will be NO Q&A after the show ----- so when is the official tour presser ??

Actually, my take is it's THAT GOOD, and they're about to blow the media's collective heads off with this set (As in "Heard ya missed us, WE'RE BACK")...we'll see...

It's like when movie studios have a turkey on their hands they don't do press screenings.

I think we have to take the Cafe Wha gig as a good sign about the quality of the album, or at least the record company being pleased with it. Also if it was a 4th Indiana Jones movie kind of deal, would U2's record company sign them after hearing it?

I just think that they are so freaked out about losing money to people downloading their music that they are trying to keep it bottled up until the release date. So I expect the new single tonight then Panama and the rest of the"hits"

Nothing really... advise is the act of giving advice.

I was expecting some folks to correct your choice of words... thankfully all the language experts are posting at Links today.

People who do not have English as a first language get a pass on the spelling and grammar police. :D
