If you go by percentages, my little town here has to win as I am about 10 percent of the population.

Not here......Hagar still draws a crowd, I think!

Van Halen's bigger though!

St. Louis is Hagar territory. I have no idea why.

I'd have to say Southern California has to be pro-Roth....

Plus, northeastern cities like Philly, New York, Pittsburgh and Boston are definitely NOT Hagar towns.....

For Hagar, I recall he always did well in the midwest, especially St. Louis....

I would include Lansing, MI since the rock station Q106 only played Roth-era =VH=.

The first radio station outside of LA to play Van Halen was KISW in Seattle.

Just sayin'

We love the Tribe, Cavs, Browns...and the MIGHTY VAN HALEN!

Twona, Me, Pojo Von (I think), Damngoodtimes call all attest to this.

There's one Akron station that's more hagar friendly..but that's it.

Yup, WMMS was once one of the best rock stations in the country....

I would guess the majority of Indiana to be pro-Roth. I have no idea if Bloomington has a statue of the Diamond One in their town square, but they should. Can't speak for MN unfortunately. Classic rock stations seem to play primarily classic 6-pack; I seldom hear any Hagarita songs - but I don't listen to the radio all that much either. I would put it 60-40 Dave in the Northstar State, but that's just a guess - could be higher. Maybe Northern Girl can shed some light on the sitchyashun.

I would say in my opinion that Seattle is Pro Roth. A few Hagar fans are here but more Classic Van Halen gets played on the radio.

KISW was cool back in the day...

They play U2, newer AC/DC and Van Hagarrrgh (I just threw up) every time I visit...

Unfortunately I wasn't there, but Dave played to an almost sold out Hammersmith Apollo in London in February 2004, which would be between 4 - 5,000. Hagar cancelled his show at the same venue either late the same year or the next year because he apparently sold 400 tickets.

:elvis:

Seriously, they promoted the HELL out of Van Halen. Even had the band live in the studio on several occasions between 1978 and 1981. This station ID was recorded during one of those appearances, and yes, they were totally shitfaced when they did this........

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fS5D7Bpw_Cc

They also played Ac/Dc before anybody else in the US. I had the Australian imports of "High Voltage" and "TNT" on vinyl long before most people knew who the Hell they were.

Neither KISW or KZOK played a single Van Hagar song on the radio for 8 years after Spam left the band in 1996. Sadly I think their corporate owners ordered them to play it for the 2004 Velveetapalooza tour, and they haven't gone back to not playing it again since. But they still play more actual Van Halen though.

KISW hasn't been the same since half the team defected to KXRX back in the 80's. And definitely went down hill after the Entercom takeover.

Haven't listened much to KZOK since Bob Rivers left either. Tried listening to Danny Partridge, but it just ain't the same.

One of them has to embrace the new album, damn it.

On further review, it seems that KZOK is acting a little more responsibly.....

And Bo Roberts and his Metal Shop!! Bo played the Alternate Eruption I posted here over a year ago...such a shame I lost my pristine copy somewhere. All I have is a weak lower fidelity version. Too bad there isn't a musician or someone we could ask locally with some influence in Seattle who might be able to convince Steve or Bo to help us get a copy of that piece of music edward gave the station...

Right on brother. I think it is also safe to say that Canada is Dave country, especially since he has recorded in Toronto and had so much touring success as a solo artist there as well.

It's dated music.

Well it's obvious the Big Sheep Cunt stole Jimmy Buffett's beach bum persona and business franchise ideas ---- so I can see why Key West might have a liking for the tequila salesman dipshit.

I don't think many Australians even know who Hagar is. They have never played any of his solo work on radio over here... NEVER! In 98 he had the nerve to tour here 1 week after VH toured and he got his people to hand out flyers as we exited the VH concerts... I have never seen so much litter in my life!
