Why The Obama Recovery Has Been Much More Impressive Than Reagan's

I am just posting the last paragraph. You really need to go to the above page and look, as there are a lot of graphs detailing the economy for the past 32 years. Some people bitch that Obama has not done shit...well, he has obviously accomplished a helluva lot more than Old Senile Basard did, even though he was given a large shit sandwich when he was elected in 2008.

Since the Recession ended, Obama has maintained growth in private investment. Reagan? He had several negative periods in there, and overall a lot more volatility on this measure. And as Pethokoukis even noted above, Obama has had to contend with weak residential investment, yet private investment is still maintaining nice growth.

We could of course go on, and point to several other factors in Obama's favor, such as the fact that tax rates had already been lowered quite a bit heading into his presidency, taking away one easy form of stimulus, or the fact that a major trading partner, Europe, has been in crisis virtually the whole time of Obama's Presidency, or the fact that Obama faced a Congress who threatened to cause the U.S. to default, or the fact that interest rates were ultra-low already, again taking away one form of stimulus from Obama.

But you get the gist: The conditions behind the Great Recession were far worse than anything Reagan inherited, and Obama has pulled off a recovery with less of a sustained growth in Federal Government spending.

It doesn't look good for The Gipper.

It doesn't look good for the Gipper? LOL.

    Clinton created 18.7 million jobs.

    Reagan created 16.7 million jobs.

Obama has created 2.7 million jobs.

All had to deal with hostile Congresses.

Who's the odd one out here?

Obama sucks. In general Presidents And government dont create jobs unless you count work release prison jobs or those dudes on the side of the Highway Picking up trash. Presidents dont create jobs, policies do. And Obama has been so wishy washy and class centric in his pronouncements, businesses dont know what the fuck to expect. He's a feel good story in the yay we got a black president kinda way, but Hilary was/is more experienced, more knowledgeable, more fucking decisive. She would have passed health care with a single payer option as the crown jewel, she would have let Bush cuts expire, she would have reigned in banks, chose jobs over environment with pipeline, reigned in Pelosi and Reid a bit, done better job of rallying base, hammered Solyndra, paraded Osama's body down Broadway, chose better judicial appointments, would govern by crazy woman intuition than by poll numbers, have the benefit of Bill's occasional insight (when not poon hounding), and wouldn't have relied on class warfare or let republicans dictate terms as they have. Democrats missed a phenomenal opportunity to elect a true leader. Depending on experience, Obama might have been a good choice 8-12 years later with real experience.

      That is all.

Reagan inherited a shit sandwich from Carter. He basically created those 17 million jobs in about four years ('82-'86).

Obama's had three years and created less than a million jobs a year.

More experience doing what exactly? Bowing to foreign leaders? Being Chinas bitch? Pushing through a law that we had to pass before we could know what was in it? Opening his yap & then realizing he fucked up and invite the guys over for beer? Timothy Geithner? Eric Holder? Van Jones? John Corzine? Guantanamo? Solyndra?

The man is a failure as President of the United States.

He couldn't even get the Olympics to choose his hometown when they were in the final 3. Fails at math (57 states). What about his promise that the stimulus would keep unemployment below 8%?

                        Nobel Peace Prize?

                        Gas prices?

Under Bush there were 22.7 million Americans on food stamps. Under Obama there are 37 million.

What's the national debt at currently?

                        Irans nuclear progress?

Civil liberties? Have you tried getting onto an airplane lately?

Law suits against states that try to enforce laws already on the Federal books but are currently ignored?

Yeah, with the experience Obama now has serving as President I sure as hell don't want him applying that to another 4 years. Blame Bush all you want for leaving this mess for Obama. But wasn't Obama supposed to "Change" things for the better? Instead he has amplified the problems beyond our wildest nightmares and added a slough of whoppers of his own in there. I don't know who we can vote for to fix it, but it sure as hell isn't Barack.

So awesome that the only way the United States can get into space is by purchasing a ride from Russia.
