View Full Version : What's your guess for the Running Time for ADKOT?

We all know the album will be fabulous. Wolfie's bass is high in the mix, Eddie's sound will be gargantuan. Dave will deliver lyrically and vocally. Alex is as good as Neil Peart;maybe better.

Melodicrock will review the album before we get it next Tuesday.

I hope the running time is more than 35 minutes. At 3 minutes average x 13 songs is 39 minutes.

Anyone think we'll break the 50 minute mark?

I hope it goes for an hour.

Cheers

Nigel

I'm estimating the average length of song to be between 4-5 minutes. Probably some will be a little shorter, maybe one or two longer.

I'm going to guess 60-65 minutes total.

Can't speak for the Spammy years, but as far as Dave albums go, this will reign supreme as the longest =VH= studio album. At first that gave me some honest doubts and second guessing - it just seemed like too many tracks. My doubts have now been gleefully put to rest. I'm guessing it will clock in at just over 50 kick-ass, mind-blowing, wood-inducing minutes.

Longest by about 10 minutes I think.

This is something that annoys me when people criticise strongly a particular track or say there are too many based on old songs when there are 13 on the album.

If you don't like it then delete that one and you are still two songs up.

Diver Down had just about 14 minutes of new original songs.

I have a fairly strong suspicion this piece of data wasn't fudged for anyone's benefit.

Don't knock the perceived-as-short early albums. Van Halen always packed a lot into those 33 minutes.:clock:

Just messin with ya, War. Here's one of my favorite Wiki quotes from Dave's page:

"In 2003, On December 31, Roth played a one night sold out New Year's Eve show at the House of Blues in Hollywood, CA consisting of Van Halen era songs as well as Roth era songs, and some drunken midgets roaming about the stage."
