I will say Van Halen needs no introduction because they already have one, "I GIVE YOU THE MIGHTY VAN HALEN!". Those words in themselves should give a clue how amazing this group is with Roth, and what they have to fight now with this new LP. When I was growing up, you had band loyalties...no different than roaming the jungle with tribal loyalties, except the modern jungle was composed of asphalt, malls and your local 7-11. You might listen to Def Leppard but you did not claim them like Van Halen if you were a fan of Van Halen. Foreigner, Billy Squier, Bad Company and a slew of others might have been in your record collection but they did not even approach your proud oath of "Van Halen is my favorite group". From the onset, Van Halen took on all the competition and wasted them. Opened for Black Sabbath and blew them out of the water. Opened for rock nobility in the Rolling Stones and gave Mick Jagger fits of looking over his shoulder not to be outdone by a lead singer named Roth, who should have had his own action figure from the onset with his viking from the California beach persona who could hold a whole crowd in his hand with a simple "look at all the people here tonight". If Roth then did not win the argument when you stated proudly "your bands suck", then all one had to do was say "Eddie Fucking Van Halen" and everyone else picked up their football and went home because Van Halen was unreal, they were everything a rock band should be and the playing field was not level.

Then Roth was no longer in the group, and then all of a sudden there was parity. Hagar made them a regular band. They where no longer a threat to all the people who secretly jammed to them when Van Halen had Roth, for those who had lesser band loyalties. A Roth lead Van Halen made everyone else's favorite band not even worth putting in the picture. Along came the likes of Metallica and Guns and Roses and a Hagar lead Van Halen made the Van Halen franchise a lesser name. They became a run of the mill group. Now the true Van Halen is back. It is not just the Hagar fans that are attacking them, it also consists of a lot of other fans of the mid level groups who could never get any respect or mainly attention when Roth led the group. Ratt fans, Cinderella fans all have an envy for classic Van Halen. It was cool for them to jump on the poor man's Bon Jovi Van Halen with Hagar, knowing that then they could say maybe their band is now just a relevant or better in the moment...the threat of the Mighty Van Halen was gone. Now it is sort of like King Richard from the Robin Hood novel coming back to claim his rightful throne, and the many Prince Johns, which include Hagar, with their puppet kingdoms know they are going back to their place below Van Halen where they belong.

Van Halen with Roth is epic stuff, this new LP is epic stuff which others either honor or despise because of its greatness and the ultimate rock band's return to form. Led Zeppelin die hards and Aerosmith diehards always respected Van Halen because they too followed rock royalty with their loyalties and saw the same greatness shared in Van Halen their groups possessed. But for all the other fans of mediocrity in comparison to what Van Halen offers, are now trembling and suffering. Classic Van Halen, REAL Van Halen, is so epic that one might as well quote scripture and say for the fate of the other bands and their fan base, "and will throw them into the furnace of fire; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth." Sammy will continue to gnash his teeth along with others that follow the lesser entities of rock, for it was written along time ago when Van Halen hit the street of the LA proving grounds and pulled that sword for the rock stone of rock and roll and conquered, became kings. The Kings are back. It is a different kind of truth. It is the truth, and not the lie. The fantasy world of the second tier bands, where they thought they too were worth as much is gone. They had like a three decade reprieve from when Van Halen became vulnerable back in 1985. Illusions can become hard to accept when allowed to be accepted as truth for so long, but the truth is back...I GIVE YOU THE MIGHTY VAN HALEN!

I don't read unnecessarily long posts like that...

Especially ones with huge paragraphs...

Mr. Presley never had time to read books...who could blame him with all the women early on and then all the food later in his life to address

I remember loving Def leppard in junior & senior high school in the 80's. There was a time when it was cool to admit it. Then it suddenly became kinda uncool to let it be known once Metallica & Megadeth were hitting the record stores.

Same happened with Ratt. Not so much Crue.

But Van Halen? Loving the 6-pack & Roth led VH was never something you didn't wear proudly. No one ever gave you shit about VH no matter how heavy the music was they were in to. That period where if you weren't into super heavy thrash metal like Slayer you were in to pussy bands. With the grand exception of The Mighty Van Halen! You could wear a VH shirt to a Slayer concert & be respected. Try that with a Hysteria shirt in 1989.

Seems the only person on Earth that doesn't respect the Mighty Van Halen is a fucking clown that got inducted to the R & R Hall Of Fame under that very bands name.
