Poor Al, every time Dave asked him a question, Dave would then cut him off when he tried to answer. Yup, Dave, you're like every other friggin interviewer out there. :D. Yes, interviewers cutting people off after asking them a question is a pet peeve of mine, lol.

Could someone please tell Eddie about his open fly?

Al still doesn't look real happy. I remember when Dave and Al would do those old Rockline interviews in the 80s... they were thick as thieves. Can't blame Al though... I'd still carry a grudge with Dave if he stuck me with Fagar for all those years.

I see in this interview how much Dave really likes these guys and respects them and perhaps may have missed a few things, while they were all young and trying to take over the world as a R&R band.

I love this stuff.

they all seem to get along well and there is a lot of respect...and the biggest thing to notice in a conversation is that though Dave is a little hyper even at his calmest moments, he is listening to them and asking questions in accordance with their responses.

Definitely more! I love this stuff - could watch it all day. Al's body english at the start seemed like he'd rather be anywhere else - but then he and Ed both seemed genuinely pleased to be asked serious, respectful questions by Dave about their family history. For his part, I thought Dave was trying his hardest not to interrupt, but he's obviously used to being the talker and not the listener. A fantastic bit of VH history that I seriously dig, this band just keeps on wowing me in every way. Thanks for sharing this. The perfect way to pass the time while I wait for the stroke of midnight...

And let's hope this is part of a bigger picture documentary that will actually see the light of day!

I FUCKING LOVE this shit. Fucking love it.
In all my years as a VH fan, I've NEVER seen an interview with Al, Dave and Ed TOGETHER much less Dave interviewing Ed and Al.
Within the last 20 years or so, bands have been recording and releasing EPKs (electric press kits) which always went to the press/media but never to the fans.
What we're getting now from VH is essentially segments of an EPK posted and streamed online for EVERYONE to see. Brilliant...and about fucking time!!!

Phenomenal stuff! I was hopin' there'd be some of this kinda stuff on the DVD. 6-8 hours of extras would do me just fine... The history they share... Easy to see how alienated they could become when the thing derailed in the heyday. Buds since HS, stomp the world into submission, and it went south. It had to be a helluva traumatic experience! You can sense how intelligent these guys are, we already knew that from the stellar tunes all these years. Too much of this shit is never enough. I offer you... VHTV! 24 hours, all Halen, all the time!

New Castle, IN. Home of two of my heroes growing up, Steve Alford (look it up) and Diamond David Lee Roth. The 80's were a great time to be a Hoosier.

what's really funny is the fact that everyone here is hypersensitive of the fragility that might occur in the band...if dave could piss the sisters off by saying things like "my song" or by interrupting alexis during the interview. after almost 40 years that these guys know and hate each other it could happen anytime anyway...relax and enjoy it as long as it lasts...

Dave says it all in "the trouble with never"..."you wanna play?..."

The video is not choppy...

OK... maybe choppy isn't the right word. Rather than a true motion picture... it's shot with time lapse snap shots about every 1-2 seconds rather than real time?

Seems so far every black and white video is shot this way... it's ok. But every fuckin video it gets eh... ok we've seen artsy, but these intimate conversations would look better in real time.

Probably fine for most of the crowd over 45 who are finding bodily functions or dysfunctions become a way of life... and unfortunately an all too frequent conversation piece.

In a sense, I get the feeling this first section is more a history lesson for the kids and those who never paid attention... the 99%'ers. Curious to see if the discussion timeline progresses past 1985...

Seems possible that all of these clips will tie together nicely for a full blown documentary. It'll be interesting to see how far along into their careers in music this discussion progresses. Now we know when Dave says "meet us in the future, not the pasture" he is in no way asking that we forget the past. How could we? Doubtful that there has ever been a more glorious origin to a rock band than theirs.

I believe the problem is that the videos default to HD. So, if you you have a computer that can't handle HD video, you're going to get the one shot every two seconds instead of the fluid video that you're supposed to get. Change the video to standard definition and it should play better.

Plus, these guys know that his life is about to change dramatically. The kid's that fucking good. He's blowing people's minds already. Let him have normalcy for as long as possible. My favourite tweet yesterday: "If Wolf was playing guitar,Eddie would have to fire himself. :lmao:
