Foiled airline terrorist plot thought to be work of al-Qaeda master bomber

Osama bin Laden was killed a year ago, but the White House said the discovery of this new plot to blow up a airplane in the United States shows al-Qaeda is still a threat.

U.S. officials suspect the explosive device seized in the foiled airline terror plot is believed to be the work of al-Qaeda's master bomber, Ibrahim Hassan al-Asiri.

Investigators with the Federal Bureau of Investigation said it is similar to the one that failed to detonate on Christmas Day in 2009, except this one was slightly more sophisticated in that it did not contain any metal, thus making it more difficult to detect.

Authorities suspect the bomb was made in the lab of al-Asiri, who is believed to be still on the run.

However, there are reports that he may have been killed last month by a drone attack.

One thing we do know for sure is the Obama Administration is guilty of killing two federal agents and 300 mexicans because they sold firearms to drug cartels so they could further their political agenda. Eric Holder has committed perjury and there has been obstruction of justice to cover things up. I'm sorry but this makes Watergate look like nothing. Nixon was a crook and a liar and should have been kicked out of office but nobody died in Watergate. Fast and Furious is so much more serious and the sickening thing is, the Republican establishment and the Democrats who should put people's lives and the integrity of the country before partisan politics do nothing. It's like they just don't care.

It looks like all this was planned before Obama ever came into office and Obama is carrying the plan out. Hope and Change? I find it interesting his base supports him when they would go completely ape shit if a Republican did the same thing. It really shows how much substance or lack of it is in the current Democrat movement. Chasing Al Quaida is just the excuse the government needs to invade middle eastern countries and crack down on us here at home. It's pretty obvious we have a ruling class in both the Republican and Democrat parties who think they are a law unto themselves and they are going to do what they want regardless of what the citizens want. They just need an excuse to do it. The Department of Defense is now the Department of Offense. This has nothing to do with keeping us safe and they are just trying to wow us or keep us scared with Al Quaida ghosts and we have to mostly trust them and take their word for it that they got these guys. Give me a fucking break. It's all about having an excuse to feed the war contractors and grab more power. A few people will enjoy this but most of us won't. The amount of money we spend chasing Al Quaida is staggering. Enough to buy some real health care or high speed rail. The stuff Democrats always say they want but now since their guy is in office they seem to be all gung ho going after the ghost and spending the resources to do it. What a fucking joke. I guess as long as the welfare spending is up and the student loans get a break that's all that matters. It's no deeper than that.

I used it as an example. Put it this way, when you travel you notice the news rarely matches what's really going on where you are. If you just sit on the couch and your whole observation of the world is through what the major media companies spew, then you start to see enemies everywhere and losing your freedom as a citizen is what is necessary to make sure life goes on here in the good old USA. Pretty much this girl says what a lot of people who live over there are saying. Much of the whole terrorist thing is bullshit.

All I can say is follow the money and look for patterns. It's not rocket science. We invade or support invasion where there is oil and go after people who want to sell their oil in something besides US Dollars. Then of course we have proof the powers that be had a long-term plan to invade some of these middle east countries. It could be as simple as so many people in this country make a lot of money off the war machine and they don't want to give it up. It's easy to make the middle east out to be the bad guys and justify attacking them. It would be much harder to do this in places like latin America and as long as you can whip their ass it works.

Then of course you use the fear to grab more power for yourself and before you know it, you are treating your own citizens like terrorists; Especially, when they get tired of being robbed and start to protest what you are doing.

It's not so much terrorism as it is just plain greed.

The inside job theories get quite crazy but look at what the government is doing because it happened. It's now saying we don't have any rights and we are all guilty until proven innocent. It sure doesn't look like the government that is supposed to protect our constitutional rights does it? The government is supposed to operate in a fashion that you are innocent until proven guilty and it's supposed to operate in the constitutional matrix that you have the right to privacy and unreasonable searches. Was it an inside job? I have no idea but I know what the government has done because it happened.

Officials: Al-Qaida bomber was CIA informant

WASHINGTON

U.S. and Yemeni officials say the supposed would-be bomber at the heart of an al-Qaida airliner plot was actually an informant working for the CIA.

The revelation, first reported by The Los Angeles Times, shows how the CIA was able to get its hands on a sophisticated underwear bomb well before an attack was set in motion.

Officials say the informant was working for the CIA and Saudi Arabian intelligence when he was given the bomb. He then turned the device over to authorities. Officials say the informant is safely out of Yemen.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss the sensitive intelligence matter.
