I was watching some classic Dead the other night. 72 was a good Dead year. My brother went to Stanford in 71 and stayed in the SF Bay until he died. He was a huge Dead fan.

    Back in the strange days.

Never liked Joplin's spastic McGee cover. This one I like.

That Oregon '72 show is HOT SHIT. The Playin' in the Band on there should be studied by every guitar player. It is perfect. And the Dark Star is at another level of insanity. Top 5 show in their career and one of the better rock shows EVER RECORDED. The Bertha remaster is a revelation.

And it's always fun to have some naked hippy flappin' his cock around in the video.
        gnaw on it

They were always playing on someone's farm. The Dead would roll in and then the freak buses would roll in full of hippies and the celebration would commence. Never knew what would happen. Girls would peel their clothes off and start dancing with dirty looking kids with no diapers left with the dog. Stoned naked freaks climbing up on the stage. Thank goodness someone let the film roll it's fun to watch.
