I fucking wish !! My buddy went to that show in MN. and said it's at the top of his list as a favorite. He has been going to concerts since 72. Said the band was hungry.
Saw that tour when it hit Toronto. Made it to second row, down in front of Ed.
First thoughts were, are they gonna top the WACF from last year? Yup! Holy fuck Eddie got his hair chopped short.
And, holy fuck he plays loud...
The 3 night stand of the greatest tour EVER began tonight in Oakland..
Was anybody there??
We could all relive that wonderful 3-night stand if Eddie Van Weirdo would FINALLY release the film reels of Oakland that we all know he has in his private collection.
I ain't buying the "technical problems" explanation for why we don't have a DVD of that show --- a few songs might have got messed up but the majority of those shows were captured on film and needs to be seen!
I was there on June 12th. I've still got the ticket stub , it cost me a whopping $8.00. That was easily the best VH gig I've seen, school had just been let out for summer and the weather was perfect. My mom dropped me and three of my buddies off at the Malibu Grand Prix that used to be right outside the entrance to the Oakland Colisuem and I strutted in wearing my 1980 Invasion shirt that I had bought at the previous gig on Oct 9th '80. I felt like the coolest 13yr old on earth for a good few hours that night. All those memories were coming back as I walked up the concrete stairs this past June 3rd for another spectacular gig in Oakland.

I was there the 2nd and 3rd nights. I distinctly remember film crews and a huge recording setup at the sound board both nights...
What cemented that memory was 3 years later I found myself standing on that same stage opening for the Marshall Tucker Band and The Outlaws. My first thought was holy shit I'm playing on hallowed ground being on Ed's side of the stage!!
