(CBS News) Meir Dagan has been described as "hard-charging" and "stops at nothing." For more than eight years, Dagan made full use of those qualities as chief of Mossad, Israel's intelligence agency, where he focused on keeping Iran from developing a nuclear weapon. When that job ended, Dagan did something unheard of for an ex-Mossad chief: he spoke out publicly, voicing opposition to Israel launching preemptive airstrikes against Iran's nuclear facilities anytime soon. Dagan believes the Iranian regime is a rational one and even its president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad -- who has called for Israel to be annihilated -- acts in a somewhat rational way when it comes to Iran's nuclear ambitions. Lesley Stahl reports.

When even Mossad says NuttyYahoo is crazy, that shouldn't leave any doubt about it.

Now why don't they just take him out like they did Sharon and Arafat?

Because they want him to be the person in their government who is their mouthpiece.

Notice how North Korea makes inflammatory statements, all kinds of threats, etc.?

They are the freaked out yip-yip dog of China.

Just as Iran is the freaked out yip-yip dog of Saudi Arabia.

All bark, no bite.

So Nutty Yahoo is the same sort of mouthpiece. Yell and scream about attacking Iran, when in reality it would NOT benefit Israel, much like attacking Israel would not be in the best interest of Iran.

Israel isn't going to have missle strikes against Iran. It's all a smoke screen as they quietly and efficiently assasinate Iran's top scientists.

They have done a bit of that. Most of what people get fed here about the middle east is biased. Israel has to paint a picture of always being on the verge of being attacked because if all was well, the citizens here would demand no more money be sent to Israel. We send them billions of dollars in aid money each year.

Then of course if you are Iran, you want a nuke. The US doesn't attack nuclear powers. If Saddam Hussain had nukes we would have not attacked him. Nukes are wonderful defensive weapons. You can't blame countries for wanting them, especially with the US military invading all over the place.

Yep...

And if I was Mahmoud I'd want some nukes...

Nukes can only enhance your credibility at the bargaining table...

True.....

Notice how the presdent of Iran made a fairly subdued speech at the UN the other day......only one vague reference to Israel....no inflammatory rhetoric at all....

It's not up to him. But the truth is that the Iranians are idiots for pursuing a massively expensive program in the face of economic sanctions in order to get what amounts to a white elephant that is massively expensive to keep with security and command and control concerns...

They're never going to match Israel's nuke arsenal and the Saudis might just go out and buy one from Pakistan...

Still don't think anyone wants any government with figurehead puppets like Amahdinnerjacket (who even the Iranian people think is crazy, btw) controlled by the same Islamic extremist clerics who are telling people to go out and kill because of cartoons and YouTube videos to have nuclear capability... just sayin'...

Nuttyahoo is an idiot if he launches a full-on military "preemptive strike". They're better off continuing to do subtle shit like fuck up power to the Iranian's centrifuges and whatnot...
