Excuse if this has been discussed before, but I just now discovered this. Republicans blocked a bill on July 20 that would have curbed overseas outsourcing of jobs and encouraged bringing jobs back to the US:
SO....as usual the Republicans claim they want to help our economy...they claim they are oh so fucking patriotic....yet by their actions they demonstrate beyond a shadow of a doubt they want to DESTROY our country!

Republicans kill U.S. jobs bill designed to curb job outsourcing
Thursday afternoon Republicans in the U.S. Senate blocked a bill designed to help American job growth by providing tax break incentives to companies investing in jobs in America while at the same time removing existing tax breaks gained by companies that outsource jobs beyond U.S. borders.
Present law allows companies to take a tax deduction for the movement of equipment and people beyond U.S. borders. This bill would have removed such tax deductions and, in addition, it would have provided a 20% tax incentive to companies who moved overseas jobs back to American soil.
Despite the defection of four Republicans who voted for S.3364 Bring Jobs Home Act, the final vote, 56 yeas to 42 nays, was not enough to pass the 60 vote threshold needed to move the bill forward to a simple majority vote.
Joining the Senate Democrats and the two Senate Independents in voting for the measure were Republican Senators Scott Brown of Massachusetts, Susan Collins of Maine, Dean Heller of Nevada and Olympia Snowe of Maine.
Two Senators did not vote on the bill: Republican Senator Mark Kirk of Illinois and Democratic Senator Herb Kohl of Wisconsin.
In a move of political gamesmanship Republicans unsuccessfully attempted to have two amendments added to the bill which have nothing to do with the issue at hand: a full repeal of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and an extension of all of the Bush-era tax cuts. The tax cuts are set to expire on December 31, 2012 if no action is taken by Congress.
In a statement after the vote Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid attacked Republican opposition to the bill reinforced the need to passage of the legislation, stating,
“In the past decade, American companies outsourced almost 2.5 million jobs. Right now, more than 130,000 workers in Nevada are at risk of seeing their jobs sent overseas. But today, Republicans blocked the Senate from debating a common-sense bill that would provide a new tax incentive to create more jobs here at home, and eliminate subsidies for companies that are shipping American jobs overseas.
Republicans’ presidential candidate, Governor Mitt Romney, made a fortune by encouraging companies to ship American jobs overseas, so it’s little wonder that Senate Republicans are afraid to defend their support for outsourcing.
Senator McConnell said that his ‘single most important’ goal is defeating President Obama, and in the past week he has made that abundantly clear. It is a shame that middle class families must suffer for Republicans to achieve their political aims.”
Meanwhile, Republican Senator Orrin Hatch of Utah accused the Democrats of political gamesmanship. According to The Hill prior to the vote on Thursday he called the bill, “a product of political rather than economic priorities.”
