Why is this in Main WARFy....
Eat Us And Smile - The Originals

"I have a very belligerent enthusiasm or an enthusiastic belligerence. I’m an intellectual slut." - David Lee Roth

"We are part of the, not just the culture, but the geography. Van Halen music goes along with like fries with the burger." - David Lee Roth

Kurelek did the Fair Warning cover.

Doesn't this constitute as Van Halen news???

A new VH album was coming out. When I went to the store to find it I couldn't find it. In actuality it was displayed in plain sight but Fair Warning had such a dark cover on it, it just looked so un-Van Halen I kept waking past it looking for that new VH album. It has to be here. Where is it? Did they sell all of them?

I reckon by '81 these boys were filthy rich and famous to the point where things could get a little Kurelek.

I'm just curious as to who picked the painting? Dave or Al?

I recall reading it was Al. If memory serves, he particularly liked the viniette with the figure banging his head into the wall. The same article mentioned the Diver Down cover being Al's idea as well.

I looked through a book of Kurelek's work a couple of years ago and was fascinated. It sure would be something if VH tapped that source for another cover.
