DEVELOPING: Arrowhead Stadium, the home of the Kansas City Chiefs, was placed on lockdown early Saturday morning after police say a player shot himself after shooting a female at another location.
The female victim is reported to be in critical condition. Local reports have identified the female victim as the player's girlfriend.
Police have not released the identity of the player, but have confirmed that he is a 25-year-old team member of the Kansas City Chiefs.
Local reports say police responded to a residence where a woman said her daughter was shot by her daughter's boyfriend, who is a Kansas City Chiefs player.
Police reportedly arrived at Arrowhead Stadium to find a male with a handgun to his head in the parking lot of the practice facility, speaking to a few people, KCTV.com reports.
Police tell KCTV that the male with the gun is the suspect in the shooting at the first location.

In all seriousness...I know I'm getting old, but sports is becoming less and less serious to me these days...and while it's more than just this kind of shit that does it...
this is part of it...
I love watching sports...love being competitive...but the media being so "informative" about who these fuckers are...
has ruined it for me...
I just can't stand many athletes...

i'm guessing here, but you won't be watching when they have the group moment of silence as the game starts or the giant group hug between both teams? Or all the arm bands they all wear? Or the eye-black with dudes # in it?
Silly to do all that for some chump that killed the mother of a baby girl and then himself. I mean I kinda get it. Don't tell me no one here hasn't been in a relationship where you felt like offing the other person. It happens. But we deal with it & try to walk away.

* we do really suck ass this year though. Norv has been the worst mistake. We had such a great window several years ago to win a championship or two. LaDanian was at his peak, Antonio gates was at his peak, and a great offensive & defensive line. We choked it hard.
And you're supposed to hate the Chargers, being in Denver & all. San Diego is my home town. I stick to my team through thick & thin. Still waiting for some thick though. Only been 41 fucking years. :)

I actually have no problem with the game going on as scheduled..Had this asshole only shot himself...Changes things a bit when you bring in a victim..I do think football is important..Half these fuckers would be in prison without it.

The city is/has been fed up with Norv for a while. Everyone was pissed when Marty was fired at the end of a 14-2 season. Been downhill steadily since. I'd rather go 14-2 and lose in the playoffs than 5-11 with Norv. Problem is Spanos. He is spineless to what his son wants to do and his son is an idiot. Oh well. But I think this is it for Norv this year. I actually hope we lose most the rest of our games so they have to fire his ass.
It's just too bad Antonio Gates will never get a ring. Guy is really a spectacular player.

Thank you. Tommy Jackson, out of all of the guys on ESPN's Sunday Countdown show (or whatever in hell it's called), was the only person of the so-called "prognosticators" from any pregame show to offer an opinion regarding this side of the story.
Crap. It's times like this that make me miss MAX even more, as he would have been right by by side pointing this out.
I feel really bad for this 3 month old baby girl. She is gonna psychologically abused for her entire life. One positive aspect considering her well being, at least she will have no memory of this. Could you imagine if the child was 9 or 10 years old?

Not sure about the mom, but with a dad like that she might be better off. She gets his nFL money all to herself too. The mom was young, so maybe the baby has some fairly young grandparents around that will love her and make sure she goes to college with that money.
