Just got a DVD of the 83 US Festival...

I had a VCR tape years ago and somehow lost it...hated that!

Guys and gals, it may not be the best show ever and the sound may be a little rough in places. but MY GOD VH just isn't the same without Dave...

There is an electricity that Dave brings that they have never had since...

I know the Hagar fans love VH with Sam, but there is honestly NO comparison...

VH with Sam is a LAME attempt at the original...

350,000 plus in 1983...350 plus in 2004 (and I am not referring to Sammy's weight)...

That person was me. I still stand by that. It was a good performance, but the sound and quality was the shits. Watch a few other concerts from Van Halen before you claim this to be the best show. It is not. I would say, 3 stars out of 5. They were all wasted before the show began and it showed during the show. They've done better.

Dave was pretty coked out and out of tune in quite a few places.

It was still amazing.

Watch it and find your self smiling the whole time.

US Festival in its 20 year old form is STILL better than Anything Van Hagar will do....

The only people who eat Hot Dogs during the show are Van Hagar...baby!!!!

LOL Well, I'll agree with that! I do enjoy the Us Fest. but Ive seen better. Watch their Brazil performance from 83. Oakland vids from 81 were better.

There are more people here tonight than will be at the Van Hagar show tomorrow night....baby...I say.....

I have the "beep" version. "I'll tell you what "beep, the concert, we'll go across the freeway and get a drink, what do ya say?" Does he say Fuck the concert? Or after the concert?

The bass solo is fake!!!!!

It's a 1984 and cathedral hybrid.

Mike sux!

Well he should.

LOL....that freakin' stage is so big. The shots of 'em all running
together always crack me up. I never really cared about the
buzzfest or anything, it's still my favorite show. When they were
tossin' hats at Dave and Ed, Ed put on a fookin' Falcons hat!
LMAO, falcons fans in Glen Helen Regional park baybayyyyyyy!

Historic gig. Most money Halen ever saw for one performance and a Guiness record for many years.

Sure, it had some howling mistakes from Dave, Ed and Al (can barely hear Mike's bass on my copies outside of his solo), but it was a wild performance. The Argentina show of a few months earlier showed the band in top form, and they were fucked up when they took the stage at the US for sure, but isn't that rock and roll?

Eddie grunts who say EVH was the focal point of the classic lineup need only watch Dave hold the mic out to the audience. Loudest cheers all night.

You know, for a guy who says he was as miserable when Dave was in the band as Ed was, EVH sure has a shit-eating grin on his face in all those classic boots.

I saw VH live at the US Festival 83 about 10 years ago on bootleg video which is one of their most legendary live performances in those days in front of 300, 000 fans.

The concert definatley has it's place in history and there are quite a few stand out points on there for us Van Halen fans to enjoy. Ed's awesome solos throughout the concert.(especially Romeo Delight) Dave's over the top charisma. And what about Mike's long winded, boring piece of shit bass solo? Holy fuck that sucked. He was the worst in the group for creativity that's for sure.
