View Full Version : Political Compass 2013

FORD
03-29-2013, 10:32 PM
Over the next few days, I'm planning to post several polls regarding issues as opposed to specific parties or candidates.

Before then, why don't y'all see where you're really at on the issues, as opposed to what party you call yourself.....

For the record, here's where FORD stands.....

Your political compass
Economic Left/Right: -8.62
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.90

http://www.politicalcompass.org/facebook/pcgraphpng.php?ec=-8.62&soc=-5.90

Guess that makes me a "Libertarian"? But definitely not one of the Randtard variety!

Take the test! (http://www.politicalcompass.org/test)

And just for the sake of reference, here's how some "world leaders" measure up......

Now I realize the fact that I'm to the Left of the Dalai Lama & Nelson Mandela might get me branded as an "extremist" by some, but when you see where most of the current world leaders are on this scale, if that doesn't scare the shit out of you, it should at least tell you that FORD may damn well have a point about this whole 32 year toilet spiral thing.....

Warham's Political Compass:
Economic Left/Right: -1.00
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.23

According to that chart, I'm a hair to the right and a hair more libertarian than Nelson Mandela.

The term "liberal" regarding politics is not the same country to country. In some countries being "liberal" means being conservative by a US standard. If you think about it, a conservative would be the one who would want to micromanage everything. A liberal would be more lasse fare. In the US today, both the so called liberals or conservatives want to censor free speech and micromanage everything. The right does it in the name of religious decency and the left does it in the name of making things fair. Then of course some people are really liberal from a moral and social standpoint but very conservative from a fiscal standpoint.

I wish we had more choices than just two candidates who could win the presidency. The public would be better represented. They have made running for president and having any chance of wining priced beyond where anyone without corporate and banking connections cannot afford to win even if they are popular. Mitt Romney bullied Ron Paul out of the race and Barrack Obama bullied Hillary Clinton out of the race. Politics in the US is what it is because a few oligarchs want it the way it is. Anyone who is a threat to them will not get the nomination. Right now, liberal and conservative are just illusions to make people think they have a choice.

Who cares about the scale. It means nothing. One thing it does indicate is there isn't much difference between Mitt Romney and Barrack Obama. Basically, just flip a coin the next election. In other words there is not much difference between presidential candidates anymore. I would agree with that.

Mitt Romney bullied Ron Paul out of the race and Barrack Obama bullied Hillary Clinton out of the race.

Not even remotely the same thing. The Obama vs Hillary thing was a full primary season. He did better in some states, she did better in others. No bullying involved, aside from that ridiculous "PUMA" dragonshit that came in towards the end of it, and that turned out to be a stealth Republican plot anyway, as opposed to actual Hillary supporters.

Actually, if you were going to make a comparison, I'd say what the false "Democrats" did to Howard Dean in 2004 would be a much closer parallel to what happened to Ron Paul.

Just to explain how things are going in the UK at the moment. David Cameron is the leader and Ed Miliband is the leader of the opposition, look how close they are left/right. Same goes for Romney and Obama 'the communist'.

Since I am not religious, I just feel that's the way I am. If I were religious on the other hand I would see it as a good thing. Jesus philosophy wasn't "the survival of the strongest" it was more "all for one, one for all" ;)

I've posted before that I find the teachings of Christ character a bit too left wing for my liking.

Ha! FORD voted for a right-winger last election!

I knew somebody would catch that.....

I'm really not sure how they arrived at that conclusion, considering Rocky and Jill Stein's positions were virtually identical.

I never saw anything in Rocky's platform that could pass for right wing Libertarian at all. Pretty much anything that he and Gary Johnson agreed on, they also agreed with Jill Stein, who was correctly ranked as a "Left Libertarian".

We do these at work or did them for performance reviews and the inability to not say neither totally distorts the outcome.

Yeah, some of the questions asked really aren't so "black & white", and if they had 2 or three other options, a lot of people might fall in the middle.

But that goes back to my whole reason for posting this again (as well as the polls I will put up later) which is to get past partisan labels and look at the issues.

My way of thinking is a lot black/white so this test fitted me just fine :D
