I think about 80% of you have figured out by now who our DDE rep is, but in case you haven't....

Here's a fantastic article profiling "our own" Shelly Toscano, and gives some good behind the scenes detail on both the ADKOT tour and The Roth Show's.....

Congrats Shelly !!

** Please don't copy/paste, I'm told she gets paid by the click, so let's help her out.... **

Very cool writeup!

I dabbled in digital editing in the late 90's as a hobby, using software like Adobe Premiere and After Effects to learn the basics. That stuff is pretty cool once you immerse yourself in it. Problem is, 3D compositing has a VERY steep learning curve so the intimidation factor kicked my ass and I lost interest. Plus, all the hardware required to have a fast editing workstation in those days easily ran into the 1000's of dollars. "Macbook Pro hooked up to four 12-terabytes G-raids" --- I would've killed to have that kinda stuff back then!

Any chance Shelly can give us a hint of where Dave got the old footage we see in some of the "Roth Shows" --- such as the 1978 Anaheim Stadium gig where VH came out in parachute gear? Does Dave has a secret vault of film reels in his house ?!? We need insider verification!

Great read!!

Great timing too... I just recently have been playing with a video editing software package to organize a bunch of home video and pictures. The Roth Show stuff got me thinking I could do something similar for our home stuff. The time involved even on simple stuff while learning the tools was a little intimidating... But, this gave me a kick in the inspiration department.

Wow! That's a lengthy read. I'll have to wait for the train ride home.

Shellster, great job you're doing. Where are you from in NJ?

Let's not go there, we don't want to abuse her....

And besides, I already asked... No dice... ;)

Damn --- worth a try!

I guess we'll all be dusty corpses before any of us knows what's in those damn vaults.

Great read! I'm wondering which version of Final Cut Pro Shelley uses - 2 years ago lots of pro editors jumped ship when Apple redesigned it from version 7 to Final Cut Pro X, only now are they starting to regain some customers lost in the fallout.
