If nobody close to you died you would be glad everyone is ok and then you probably would be so overwhelmed you would go numb. All I know is have your homeowners policy in a safe place. I had a friend lose his house due to fire and the policy burned up with the house. The insurance company denied there even was a policy.

Thoughts and prayers to the injured and damaged ...but, I saw this guy on a show a few years ago and he ain't no fool I always wondered if there would be any residual radiation but then that would mean the missles leaked and I bet that doesn't happen.

2 ton steel doors at the entrance..HAH!!! to all those End of Days guys with a stockpile of canned goods in your suburban 2 car garage..how you gonna keep the zombies out of the garage..lol.

If you could build a nice small home above ground so you woudln't get all, caveman'itis, I could dig one of these this guy bought his for 40K back in the 80's when Regan was decomissioning these types of weapons.

I see a funnel cloud about once a year, here where I live, sometimes on the news out of my eyesight but real close to me, sometimes out my window or while driving.

I have never seen one touch the ground live in front of me and I hope I never do ..not on my bucket list to see a Tornado.

My dad said he saw one up close once as a kid growing up in Texas in the 1920's he said if you hear a freight train coming and you aren't near any tracks hit the dirt get some cover don't bother looking around.

I was watching the news live last night while a chopper flew above that town north of OK City and this trailor park was litterally flat, just the floor plans and the wheels still in the ground of the trailor homes.

Completely wiped out.

Gates is into geo engineering. That means GMO food and spraying chemicals into the air to control the climate. Now the tin foil crowd say you can spray aluminum oxide into the atmosphere and hit it with a powerful microwave transmitter and move the atmosphere to control the weather. Now if you could steer a cold front into a warm front and you created the right conditions. Sure. You could make some tornadoes happen.

You can take some existing technology and some news headlines and cook them up into juicy conspiracy theories from hell.

Bill Gates is becoming the new Dr. Evil to the tin foil hat crowd.

Supposedly, the ground in that part of the country is very rocky, making it very difficult and expensive to even dig a storm shelter....

Many of the news outlets have been saying that most of the homes had reinforced rooms built, although not sure if even those would survive a direct hit from an EF4/5.....

5/21/2013 7:00am by John Aravosis (http://americablog.com/2013/05/oklahoma-senator-coburn-says-no-tornado-aid-unless-cost-is-offset.html)

You have to give Oklahoma Republican US Senator Tom Coburn high marks for consistency, if not compassion.

In the face of a major tornado disaster in his home state, that has taken the lives of 24 Oklahomans, including at least 9 children in a devastated elementary school, Coburn says he won’t support disaster relief for his home state unless the budget is cut elsewhere.

Yes, Coburn is taking his own constituents hostage as budget-cutting human shields.

It’s not the first time Coburn has taken hostages. Last winter, Coburn joined Oklahoma’s other far-right GOP Senator, Jim Inhofe, in voting against the Hurricane Sandy relief bill.

And in repeated budget stand-offs with the President the Republican party has routinely taken unemployed Americans, and the credit worthiness of the entire United States (and thus the entire US and world economy), hostage as a bargaining chip for the Tea Party ideologues that now control the GOP.

I suppose one could try to argue that Coburn’s cold-hearted ideological consistency in the face of 9 dead children is refreshing. But I’d call it heartless. And it’s systematic of the larger problem the Republican party is having at the national level. They just don’t like people. And it’s starting to show.

One thing is clear, this isn’t about the deficit. How many Republicans asked for our wars to be paid for up front? Show of hands, don’t be shy.

Republicans don’t really care about spending money like a (or for a) drunken sailor, so long as it’s for tax cuts and the Defense Department. Then after their years of massive spending bankrupt us – like Reagan did, and then Bush II – suddenly the Republicans are deficit hawks, asking us to cut all of our programs while leaving theirs in tact.

So while I can appreciate Coburn claiming that the deficit is a problem, it would come across as more sincere if his party hadn’t caused the deficit in the first place. I’d have gladly not invaded Iraq if it would have meant saving a trillion dollars right off the top, and possibly a few trillion more down the road when we factor in the overall impact on the economy (according to Joe Stiglitz).

We wouldn’t need to be holding a back sale every time Mother Nature hiccuped (and we can thank the Republicans for their climate change trutherism as well) if the Republicans would stop spending a trillion on this war and another trillion on that tax cut.

It should come as no surprise to anyone that 71% of the national debt happened under Republican presidents. The NYT has a wonderful chart (http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2011/07/28/us/charting-the-american-debt-crisis.html?hp&_r=0) making it crystal clear just how much damage the Republicans have caused to the deficit – note how much damage George W. Bush caused all by his lonesome.

So as far as I’m concerned, if GOP Senators want to hold hostage tornado aid for Oklahoma and Kansas (the other state hit by the tornadoes), two red states that voted for Mitt Romney in November, they’re certainly welcome to try. But I’d challenge Senators Coburn and Inhofe to tell these people they’re not worth it, then see how long they remain in office.

I know around here we don't like to take federal money because strings are always attached to it. There was a really bad fire in Idaho and something like 80 homes were lost. They handled the situation locally and never did take any federal money. It upset the feds so bad that they weren't needed that now they are trying to force money to be taken. If you take the money the tell your what to do. Some people just would rather not take it.

You can spin it anyway you like but there are people in Washington tied to a central bank that will print all the money needed to buy people off and they love disasters because it makes people crawl to the government. Never let a crises go to waste.

Unless we live there it's not our issue. If the people don't like the governor because of his actions well he ends his political career. Some people don't want the money believe it or not.

Oklahoma tornado's strength upgraded to rare EF5
http://i.i.com.com/cnwk.1d/i/tim2/2013/05/21/santafeave_after_AP13193519558_644x480_610x455.jpg
An aerial view shows an entire neighborhood destroyed by Monday's tornado, Tuesday, May 21, 2013, in Moore, Okla. At least 24 people, including nine children, were killed in the massive tornado that flattened homes and a school in Moore, on Monday afternoon.
/ AP/Tony Gutierrez
The National Weather Service's damage survey found that the monster tornado that wreaked havoc on an Oklahoma City suburb is the most powerful type of tornado there is: an EF5.

According to the Enhanced Fujita scale and the NWS, EF5 tornadoes and have winds over 200 mph -- enough to reduce well-constructed houses into splintered rubble and generate automobile-sized missiles. In this case, it reached a maximum 210 mph and covered a path 17 miles long and 1.3 miles wide for 50 minutes. Officials had previously thought the tornado had winds with no more than 200 mph.

That doesn't make any sense...

Sure it does......

Yeah, it was a devastating fucking storm, and probably not likely to avoid major damage regardless. But if you look at the picture above, you'll notice a row of houses that are at least still partially standing. It's hard to tell from the picture how solid they are, but at least you can still tell it's a fucking house, which says something.

You'll also notice from the picture that those houses appear to be on the "main road" in that area, which probably means they were there before the surrounding construction went in, and thus were better built than the newer houses.

Do I know for a fact that the guy used junk lumber, chinese drywall, and paid Mexicans $5/hr under the table? No I don't. But the results speak for themselves, and the results say those houses were built to make a quick buck, and not much else.
