Legendary bassist Billy Sheehan (THE WINERY DOGS, MR. BIG, TALAS, DAVID LEE ROTH) took part in a clinic at the Bass Player LIVE! event on November 9 at S.I.R. studios in Hollywood, California. Video footage can be seen below.

He certainly has a nice bag of tricks, but it all just comes off sounding like a guitar player wailing on a bass to me. I like the way he lays down a decent groove at the end of Yankee Rose. That sounds like bass playing.

He's good and you can learn a lot from him, but overly widdly bass goes a long way, IMO...
