The Buffalo Bills feel like they’re getting a raw deal from NFL officials.

That was the sentiment in the team’s locker room Monday, less than 24 hours after a 24-17 loss to the Denver Broncos in which the Bills were penalized 11 times.

“You’re going to get penalties, things like that, but I’ve never played on a team that got treated the way the Bills get treated out there,” cornerback Corey Graham said. “I’ve never seen anything like it.”

Cornerback Stephon Gilmore said he too thinks officials are unfairly targeting the Bills. As evidence, he referenced a conversation he had with one before the start of Sunday’s game.

“The ref came up to me before the game saying, ‘I’m watching you,’ as far me holding and stuff like that,” Gilmore said. “I’m like, ‘Why you coming up to me?’ You’ve just got to put it behind you and play.”

It wasn’t just the flags that had the Bills in a lather Monday.

A Vine video of the CBS broadcast shot by 20-year-old Orchard Park resident Liam Speyer showed umpire Carl Paganelli and line judge John Hussey share a fist bump after Broncos running back C.J. Anderson crossed the goal line for a touchdown.

The clip went viral overnight – and caught the attention of a few prominent members of the Bills on social media.

“No excuse for my performance but can’t win playing 16 vs 11 thought I seen it all,” safety Aaron Williams tweeted Sunday night. Defensive end Mario Williams also posted the video to his Instagram account, saying, “Some people just have more fun than others obviously!”

On Monday, Bills players were in agreement that, at the least, it was a “bad look” for the league.

“You never know what they were doing it for, but it’s kind of a bad look,” Gilmore said. “We can’t get into it as players. We’ve just got to play the game.”

Former NFL official Mike Pereira, a current commentator for FOX Sports, harshly criticized anyone who had an issue with the gesture by officials, saying it was “insane” anyone could have construed it as a sign they wanted the Broncos to win.

“It’s one thing to be criticized, but it’s another thing to be criticized by people who have no idea what they’re talking about,” Pereira said.

Graham said Monday he didn’t think the gesture was made in a way to celebrate a Broncos touchdown, but rather as an acknowledgement that the call was made correctly. But that doesn’t mean he’s OK with it.

“It’s not a good look,” he said. “Of course I said the right thing, what I’m supposed to say, but it’s not a good look. Especially when you’ve got Denver scoring a touchdown and guys are fist bumping.”

Bills coach Doug Marrone said he’s seen the video, but wasn’t ready to talk about it publicly.

“Any type of feelings I have, I’ll address with the league,” he said.

“FistBumpGate,” as it’s become known on Twitter, isn’t the Bills’ biggest problem when it comes to officials. The team has now taken 102 penalties on the season, tied for fifth most in the NFL.

Marrone conceded after the game and again Monday that frustration with some of the calls led to mistakes from his team.

“It starts with me,” he said. “I can’t show that level of frustration on the sideline that my players see me going through. Then, it can transfer to them.

“I addressed it with the players today. We can’t have that in order to win games. What’s done is done, whatever it may be, and you need to move on and keep your focus. I’ve got to do a better job of that. That’s my responsibility.”

Graham admitted Monday that his penalty for unnecessary roughness that came during an interception return by Gilmore was justified, but wondered why there wasn’t a flag for the cut block the Broncos player threw that incensed him in the first place.

Nothing, that is, except trying to eliminate them. Of the 102 penalties against the Bills, 36 have been pre-snap. Those types of calls, and any of the retaliatory nature, are the kind the Bills can, and need to, curb.

Sucks big time for Romo..but Dallas needs Prescott..guy is unreal..and Eliott behind that line? Defense will cost Dallas the SB but its been a great ride..

I like Romo but he has reach Fragile Favre level. the wind blows and something breaks in the poor guy, and that's from years of having no oline whatsoever and taking hit after hit. I just hope that if they do go the the SB they put him in at some point and let him throw a td to Bryant.
Prescott and Elliot are fantastic especially with that line , and Morris and McFadden are no slouches.
