The Big Game is today. Who's gonna win? I'm betting on the Patriots but Atlanta looked good in the NFC Championship game.

Grudgingly rooting for Atlanta, because I'm sick to death of the Cheatriots. But not forgetting that Atlanta needed a corrupt referee's help to beat the Seahawks.....

It always seemed logical that the reformed Van Halen would do it at some point but I think one of the reasons that will never happen is it's all about the demographics the priority is getting women and younger people not middle aged white guys who are already watching anyway.

The second half started out looking like the first but it got much better as time went on. Won a hundred bucks but could have won much more betting the Patriots would come back after halftime at 10 - 1 odds.

How did you go about doing that? I've never heard of anyone cashing out early.

You can do it on online betting forums. Even better is that you can just do part of your stake.

Say you back a team $10 to win who are 2-1 against. If they are winning at halftime you can just cash out your original stake $10 for say $14 of your potential winnings and still leave the other $6 on and walk away with with $16 at the end if they win rather than the $20 you would have got if you had just left it alone.

Betting now is basically just a marketplace where the online company allows people to trade bets with each other so you can be a bookie yourself.

It's still a bit of a dumb thing to get into but there are certain bets IMHO that a worth a go because people will make the odds different than they should be.

In this case my guess was that the Patriots being far more well known and previous winners 4 times would slant the market to make them have better odds than they should because of the casual gambler. I was proved right and then was able to bail out in time and double my money.

I'm no expert in this I only do every so often and although I'm up, it's not by much.

Sport is really unpredictable, proved again tonight in the 4th quarter.

My golden rule is when I gamble I assume I've lost already, I have enough vices without getting too deep into it.

I don't do on line betting. I've had guys offer to give back half my bet at halftime when I was losing. If I took it and my team won I screwed myself. If my team lost or failed to cover the spread I saved half my money.

Ever since that horrible performance by Roger Daltrey & Pete Townsend (fraudulently billing themselves as "The Who") there hasn't been any live bands performing at the Super Bowl. Which is too bad, because there was a fairly solid decade of performances before that. So instead you get these pop singers like Katy Perry, Beyonce, or Lady Gaga, who most probably weren't even actually singing. Not to say there weren't entertaining aspects to their performances, but with no actual live singing or musicians involved, there's less chance that the NFL and/or Pepsi (or whomever sponsors halftime that year) is accused of putting on a "bad" show.

If they were still booking live bands, I'm sure Van Halen would have been chosen sometime between 2007 and now. :(

The Super Bowl has degraded into a popular culture political promoting rape den. It used to be a game. Then clever ads got attention and people watched the ads. The halftime show used to be the best marching bands doing elaborate marches on the field and they would film it from the blimp flying overhead. Then the half time show became a cookie cutter Disney whore predictable junk grab. Now they are putting political innuendo in the ads and halftime show. Now they no longer want to entertain you and make money off you. They want to politically persuade you. It's become a true idiot fest.

Van Halen are just a bunch of old men. They were a high energy act and old guys look stupid trying to do it. Yeah it's nice to see Ed still has the guitar skills but that's about it. It's a guitar legend playing with his fat son on stage with old Uncle Al and crazy Dave who looks like some crazy old sailor up there but his voice is gone. As for the who halftime show I went to see them live about then and they were still pretty good live. But watching a live band on stage where you can't hear the vocals because you're singing so loud with a dozen bottles on board for starters is different from watching a live band at home on tv with fuck all atmosphere.

It's all about context .... movies are just lots of still pictures dont you know :)

Right. How many faggit foot fairy soccer players are suffering from CTE?

Not to mention, you can be queer and thrive in soccer. Very few homo's have the ability to thrive at football. Not at the highest level. Prancing around like a faggit is encouraged in soccer. It'll get one killed in the NFL.

A rugby player tried to make it in the NFL, and found it to be too rough for him. He promptly went back to the lesser sport of rugby, that pays him minimally compared to what he made in the NFL.

During Hell week in high school, the last week of summer football training, we played bloodball. It was sort of like rugby or team smear the queer. No helmets, no pads but we wore cups and mouth guards. Several guys got hurt bad enough to end up in the hospital. They quit playing bloodball after that. I made it through with just a black eye. Later we played picnic type games to celebrate the end of Hell week. I broke my wrist being the wheelbarrow in a wheelbarrow race and missed the first 4 games of the regular season.
