Done deal. Expected to start play in 2019.

Miami Dolphins cast the only "no" vote. Vegas will be a lock for a future Super Bowl.

I hate the Raiders.... always have, but I gotta feel for the Oakland fans. Old man Davis pulled this bullshit back in the 80s and moved them to LA. Now they finally get their team back for a few years, and then Davis Jr pulls the same bullshit on them and moves them to Sin City.

Goodell:

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said relocation provided the Raiders and the league with more long-term security.

"We never want to see a relocation of a franchise," Goodell said, per NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. "[But] we needed to provide certainty and stability for the Raiders."

"We're particularly disappointed for the fans in Oakland," he said of the move, per NFL on ESPN. "We worked as hard as we could to try and find that solution."

"We never want to see the relocation of a franchise."

It's the third relocation of an NFL franchise in 18 months. He can't be too disappointed.

Yeah, well, plenty of these teams have threatened to move to Los Angeles for years.

The Raiders said they would have stayed put if only Oakland had given them more financial concessions (on top of the ones they already had) the city couldn't afford to pay.

So, now it's Las Vegas.

Virtually none of these teams (with a couple of exceptions) add much in the way of substantial revenue to the cities they are located in, anyway, when you factor in all the tax incentives and municipal bonds thrown the team's way to build and upkeep the facilities.

Yet most yokels will pressure their local pols to spend money their town doesn't have to keep these stadiums and teams local at any cost, even the cost of funding and maintaining schools, roads, utilities and the like: "fuck keeping fire stations open, 'cuz I'm ready for some football!" Idiots.

Besides, most people in Oakland got bigger problems to begin with that attending a Raiders game won't solve. Let Sin City pay out for the Raiders.
