    Megadeth Spinal Tap Moment

Late news - missed this at the time but the moment Dave Mustaine finally wins his Grammy then walking from the back of a half empty hall while the band plays Master of Puppets is some funny shit.

Dave Mustaine another award winner who believes Jesus sits back while 30 000 children die each day of preventable causes but jumps in to help in his career...

Just heard that Megadeth is opening for Scorpions on tour. Seems like an unusual double bill. Maybe the 1979 Scorpions, but the "Wind of Change" Scorpions??? Not to mention all the other very un-metal shit they have done since then.

If Dave is thanking Jesus for his Grammy, maybe they should be touring with Stryper?

It would have been unusual in the mid-to-late 1980s.

Nowadays, not so much. What's the average age of a Megadeth/Scorpions concert goer now? 45 years old? 50 years old? I'd be willing to bet enough people at a Scorpions show these days wouldn't find the idea of Megadeth opening intolerable.

Well, it's certainly not as odd as Metallica opening for Van Hagar in 1988.

Yeah, what the hell was that Monsters Of Rock bill?

I think it was...like...Kingdom Come (is that right?), Dokken, Scorpions, Metallica and Van Halen.

Which wouldn't have been a totally terrible bill to see in 1988, although Metallica was definitely the odd group out in that lineup.
