New York GOP Rep. Chris Collins arrested over insider trading charges

Rep. Chris Collins, R-N.Y., has been arrested on insider trading charges lodged by the Justice Department, law enforcement officials said Wednesday morning.

The indictment obtained from a federal grand jury also charges Collins' son, Cameron Collins, as well as the father of his fiancee, Stephen Zarsky.

The indictment relates to "securities of Innate Immunotherapeutics ... an Australian biotechnology company on whose board of directors Christopher Collins served," the DOJ said.

The defendants are accused of multiple counts of securities fraud, as well as one count of wire fraud, one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and one count each of making false statements.

One of Trumps original supporters and his first endorsement, Chris is fucked three ways to Sunday. He picked the worst district to commit insider trading as the Southern District in NY specializes in these cases due to the proximity of Wall St. He can't really cut a deal, since he has no collateral to give, and his lame excuse of "we didn't make any money" is making him look like a massive fool as they saved over $500K his son otherwise would have lost due to his nice "tip". I guess his silver lining is he'll get to break golf course sod in the hot sun rather than rocks, in white collar jail...
